| Diarrhea for 3 days I'm wondering if I should be concerned that my 7 month old Yorkie has had diahrrhea for 3 days now. He seems to be acting normal except for the runny stool a couple times a day. My biggest concern is that I am going out of town for the Thanksgiving holiday and won't be home to watch him. I thought it might be the new treats I started giving him this weekend, so I stopped yesterday. Is it possible this has caused the problem? |

| Yes, that is possible, but three days of diarrhea, especially in a pup, warrants a trip to the vet. I hope your pup is okay.

| I would go to the vets too. Plus it will give you peace of mind and you can enjoy your trip.

| sometimes little dogs can't eat certain treats, or it upsets their tummies. a little bit of canned pumpkin will help. I know my 3 1/2 year old biewer has had diarrhea the last 2 days, so, I've been giving him a 1/2 a childs peptobismol in a pill pocket, and that helps him a lot.. |

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Please don't wait and take your baby to the vet...three days is a long time trust me. I only waited 1 day and took Izzy to the vet the next morning and she had a temp of 104..not good. I would rather be safe than sorry especially now around Thanksgiving when the vets are not around. Oh and Izzy had soft stools and not runny and it was still bad.

| Poor punkin'!! I would have to agree about the vet visit. I waited ONE day and ended up with two days/nights in the hospital and a large bill.... they can go downhill fast. I give pepto but I wouldn't without having a vet look at him first. Good luck!
