|  A slightly different Benadryl question I have scoured the net over and over and can't get a good answer. Okay, the vet has given Bentley Childrens Benadryl in the past for his allergies. So I went tonight and got a bottle because his allergies are acting up. He is 4 pounds. Okay I know it's 1 mg per pound so 4 mg. But I don't have a syringe, all I have here is measuring spoons so can ANY EEE body here help me and tell me how much Benadryl I can give him tonight so he doesn't have to hack all night before I can call the vet in the morning??? I'd really appreciate it

| My Vet now recommends Childrens Claratin since Benedryl has recently changed their ingredients and not as safe for dogs. |

| thanks for the replies. I gave him 1/4 teaspoon and he did great. The chewables sound easier but what's this about Benadryl changing their ingredients??? Now I'm worried.

| I couldn't remember so I called my Vet again. She told me that Benadryl makes them more sleepy and have to use it more often than Claritin. Although Benedryl is OK, she recommends Claritin. Sorry to scare you. |

| I use childrens chewable. Baby Chloe just eats 1/2 twice a day. You dont even have to hide it in a snack because she likes them. So much easier than Liquid! Baby Chloe HATED the liquid and would pout and be mad at me after.
