| upset tummy... Quote:
I went through that with Barclay and gave him cooked white rice with a little bit of chicken stock in it. It was all he kept down and by Monday he was over his funk. Good luck!

| I was reading in another thread that they think your baby may have kidney failure...If this is the case, her inappetance is likely due to this...If she is having kidney problems, she probably has a buildup of toxins in her blood which is causing her to not want to eat. Azodyl is a supplement that has been extremely helpful in cases like these. Basically, Azodyl slows down the toxic buildup in the blood and helps prevent further damage to the kidneys. Once the toxic buildup in the blood lessens, your baby will likely have more of an appetite. What food do you have her on? There is a Renal prescription diet by Royal Canin that might be appropriate for her. Epatikin is a supplement that helps reduce phosphorus levels. These two supplements in conjunction help those with kidney problems. Vetoquinol Azodyl

| I am glad to see that you are going to get her into the vet. In the meantime, I would NOT give her any more to eat.. Let her tummy rest until she sees the vet (providing the appoinment is for today) I have found that with an upset tummy, I use white rice in chicken broth and put it in the blender so it is more liquid than solid. I let mine eat a little at a time as long as it is staying down, then increase the amount. I usually will feed them only this mixture for at least 1 extra day after they stop vomitting so as to not irrate the tummy again too soon.

| I hope your baby feels better soon. My 9 yr old Flopsy just went to the vet today. She developed a lump that we only just noticed yesterday. DH said they drew a specimen and are sending it to the lab. Said the lump is on her glands and might be cancer? Might have to have it removed? I'm just sick over this, she has never had a single problem in 8 years. |
