| Double Whammy! On the July 16th I had to take Gizmo, my main sire, to the vet, he seemed to be having difficulties peeing. The vet said kidney stone and kept him. Later in the day my vet called and said "we have a problem!" The stone was lodged behind Gizmo's scrodum and he would have to be neutered to get to it. Do what you have to do! The vet removed a pea size stone and 92ml of urine. That's a lot considering Gizmo weighed 5.8 pounds on the 16th and 5.2 pounds on the 17th. Gizmo produced some really wonderful kids, many of which I couldn't part with which is why we have so many now. He is doing great now but will have to remain on urinary food the rest of his life, which is OK because he really likes it.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | I'm so happy gizmo is ok after the surgery. its a shame he needed to be neutered as he did produce adorable puppies. but at least he's alive and now healthy. i hope he doesn't produce anymore stones.

| I feel your pain.... When i was told my best girl ever had to be spayed it was so "bitter sweet" ... in an emergency c-section with way too many babies : 6.... her uterus had "exploded" ... even the vet did not think she was going to make it... Sweet news: she did and all of her puppies.... she got spayed, we love her, i usually retire to a loving pet home, but this one is a fighter and we could not "retire" her to another home.... she is here with "other duties" now: she is the grandmother that lets everyone know she is the boss... she keeps them all on track and helps me out a lot... actually she helps even taking care of new litters, making sure all the puppies are safe in the box and things like that .... She sleeps in bed with us and we love her so much .... nope... she is not going no where..... I know you will be feeling the same i am now: Glad he is well.... glad you kept some of his offspring so you can continue with his line !!!! XOXOXOXO And good luck with your many babies.

Here are pictures of Gizmo's kids that stayed with us. Roxie, Dinky, Little Regi, Star Regi and Star are from our Reggie's last litter with Gizmo. She died 8 days after giving birth. I hand raised 5 baby girls and all survived. Peanut and Blu on next post.

| Aw, Linda, I am so sorry you had to neuter Gizmo. He produced such beautiful babies and I am not biased at all. I am glad the surgery went well and I hope he feels all better now. I will miss seeing his babies but I am glad he is alright. Destiny sends hugs and kisses to daddy Gizmo!!

| I'm sorry to hear that Gizmo had a stone!! Poor little guy Did you have the stone analyzed? This is really important in order to know what the proper diet will be for your baby...Struvite, calcium oxalate, ammonium urate...They each require different things/restrictions. Also, it's best to feed either canned food or add water to the dry food. Even if your baby drinks a TON of water, it's still not enough, particularly for stone producers. If you can keep the urine dilute enough, it will help prevent stone formation. Good luck with your baby!!
