| yorkies eyes watering like crazy Hi everyone, My male yorkie has lakes coming out of his eyes. The vet already did a tear duct flush. Problem is still there. I've booked an appointment with an eye specialist. Am I wasting my money going there? Is there a cure for this? Help |

| what food is he eating? does he chew on his paws or scratch at his ears? If you think it is more than "normal" i'd for sure see the specialist. if nothing else to know that it isn't something physical.. it could be a food/environemntal allergy. |

| I have a Yorkie name Gizmo that gets his eyes that way sometimes... I brought some things from the feed store...one was a powder and the other an antibiotic... I completely groom is face so that his hair stays completely out of his eyes. I wipe his eyes daily with a wet wipe.... If he paws at his eyes... I use the allergy eye drops... It is super important to me to check his eyes daily... well all of them...but he is the only one that seems to have an allergy... so...actually for all of them... I keep the hair out of their eyes... the books I read said that Yorkies have eye problems because of the way their eyes are made...so this is what I do for him and it helps...

| I had talked to my groomer and vet about a similar problem. Bella would tear up and I would have to "attempt" to clean her face a few times a day. What I was told was it could be allergies to the food (especially if she was biting at her paws, etc) or the hair around her eyes was scratching it and that was making her eyes water. So my groomer suggested until she gets older that I take her in every other week and he would trim up around her eyes/nose and get any loose hairs that could be getting in her eyes. I started doing that and I haven't had as bad of a problem. Luckily my groomer has had a lot of yorkies in his time, 5 at once, and doesn't charge me to just run in for a few minutes for him to trim up Bella for me. He does this for all his clients to get their babies use to the trimmers. Anyway, I hope you find a solution for your baby |
