Vomiting...again... Sophie started vomiting again this evening. She was vomiting on Sunday with bloody diarrhea, similar to Daisy's coccidia symptoms. The vet said it was most likely coccidia, because Sophie had been exposed 2 weeks ago when we took her with us to visit the breeder. Sophie has been on medication since Sunday, so I can't understand why she is vomiting again. There's no smell to the vomit like there was Sunday. Then, it was awful! No diarrhea yet, and hopefully none will occur. IF she doesn't get better, I will take her to the vet tomorrow a.m. She was vomiting grass, so it could be that. I also worry about some type of blockage. She doesn't have a fever. It makes me sad that my baby is sick again!

| Has your lil one had his shots for parvo? I know its going around really bad here in Ohio. They even closed two humane societies in Cleveland due to the outbreak. I'd seek a vet! Poor doggy!

She's current on all of her shots. I'm thinking that she may have drank some bad water today. Our trampoline has wheels, and one of the wheels was turned sideways. Some water and grass collected there and she was drinking/eating it. I don't think the grass would have made her vomit this much - there could have been some organism in it

I live in Decatur, about 45 minutes from Sheffield. When I was 16 & 17, I drove to Muscle Shoals to work at one of our sister stores, Bayless TV & Appliance!! Sophie stopped vomiting around midnight. This morning, she had another spell of mucousy diarrhea. Off to the vet we go. The vet finds nothing abnormal in her stool sample, no temp. She gave her a shot for vomiting, and a pill for her diarrhea. So far today, she's had no more vomiting. She's not had another bowel movement. She has never been sick, and then when we bring home a sick pup, she gets sick twice! Hopefully this is the end of it. Thank you all for your well wishes!

I am so glad to hear that your baby is better. A few years ago I brought 2 puppies ito my home but only after they had a clean bill of health from my vet. Two days later mine started dropping like flies..well, that is an exaggeration. Pat had told me about an outbreak of campylobacter and I asked the vet to check for that. We started all of the dogs and pups on Doxycycline and sure enough the tests showed campy. Turns out the puppies I brought here were carriers and never had the disease. I always give my babies BeneBac or ProBiotic as soon as they start with any GI upset or have to take antibiotics.
