Yorkie Yakker | my yorkie is limping!!! My gorgeous 8 month old puppy princess has been limping since friday night. The leg does not seem to be bothering her and she is still running around with our other puppy and jumping up and down as much as she can. I have been trying to limit the jumping as much as I can but she just won't stop. It appears to be her front right leg and she is putting weight on it and it doesn't bother her when we touch it or play with it. She hasn't been whining or acting any different except for this limp. The weird thing is that it comes and goes. Sometimes I look at her and its almost gone and then it comes back in the next few minutes worse. I should have taken her to the vet on Saturday but it didn't seem to be bothering her so I thought maybe it was a bruise and then the vets weren't open on Sunday or Monday. My husband called today and asked if it might be lyme disease but they said that she would be sleeping alot and not eating and she has been eating. They said that she would be fine until the appt on Thursday. Has anyone seen anything like this or have any ideas? I hate watching her limp and every time she does I just want to cry!! |

| Welcome to YorkieTalk!!! Does she have anything stuck in the hair in her pad of her foot? If she has a burr or something she could limp intermittently! I hope you find out what's wrong.

Can you get her to the vet? Sometimes might be a sign of Patella...I am not trying to scare you or be cruel in any way but If I was you and she is been like this since friday I 'll bring her in for a check up. Keep us posted, Hope all is well.

Yorkie Yakker | i didn't notice it until late friday night and then saturday she seemed to be doing a little better so i thought that it might be a bruise and she wasn't in any pain. When it didn't get better until Sunday I tried getting her to a vet but they were closed. we called our vet first thing this morning and they didn't seem overly concerned and said that they think she will be fine until they have an opening on Thursday am. They might not be but I definitely am. I wanted to take her to a vet around here that doesn't take appts but I don't trust their judgement. |

Hope all goes well. Have you checked her nails? That might be a possibility as well. My Koda once was limping and I was so stressed, she happened to have a cracked nail and I didnt even noticed

Yorkie Yakker | ooh I didn't check that! I'll call and have my husband check. I'm so worried that I'm considering taking her to the other vet tonight but I really don't trust them and I haven't had good experiences with them, but I hate to wait until Thursday. Then again I hate to take her and have them do something that can make it worse. Its so hard to make the right choice |

| I just noticed yesterday the same symptoms in my 7 month old puppy Mija. She limps one minute and the next she is running and jumping around on her leg. Her leg doesnt seem to hurt her when we touch it, but she doesnt seem to want to put any weight on it. She has been very sick in the past and I am really worried about her. |

| I was wondering what was the problem? My 7 months baby has been limping on and off for a few days now. One minute he's running around, jumping and next he starts limping and won't put any weight on it...
