| Uugghhhhh!!! Lana just threw up on me! Were sitting here watching Dog whisperer, an episode I need for Chloe, and she justs opens her mouth and throws up this brown putrid chucky mess and my lap! I have NO idea what it is and it smells awful! Shes acting like its all fine and nothing happened and I'm a hysterical mess. Can I give her pepto? Should I? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | How's she feeling today? You can give Pepto - I think I usually give a 1/2 tsp or so.

| I have used Pepto on my sweeties! Toby is only 7.6lbs and I give about 1/4 of teaspoon.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i don't remember why but the vets i work for say to NOT give pepto. i will ask on monday why specifically, but i trust that its a good reason. what i would do is withhold food and water for 12 hours. then start with a little bit of yogurt and very small meals. Lana may just have an upset stomach.

I think it is because the formula for pepto has changed and has aspirin in it (if I remember right). Yogurt sounds like a good start. I would just wait and see. If she continues to throw up then you had better check it out. Sorry you were the recipient of her upchuck EW! Hope she's feeling better.

| Lanas doing better. She threw up 2 more times later that night but didnt seem too upset. I think it may be our water, I found out this morning that were having containmenated(sp) water here. A few of my neighbors are sick too. From here on out it will be bottled water only for these babies. Please let me know the final decision on pepto. |
