| Ate Cat Food - Really Worried Hi All and Merry Christmas! I'm having a very bad day. Our Punkin got into cat food this morning while visiting. I didn't realize it until we went to my parents this afternoon. She threw up A LOT of cat food. Some of it was still in the little fish shapes - that's how I knew. She got sick the once, but has had three runny poops since then, each time runnier. I am worried sick. Should I be this worried? Do you think I should take her to the emergency vet clinic? Any help would be sooo greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Alexis |

| I would call the vet clinic just to be sure. Is she still drinking water and acting okay otherwise?

| Cat food is higher in fat as well, that will cause the runny poop. I would not worry. Put baby on a bland diet of boiled chicken and plain rice until the poop is back to normal. If not better in a day or two, I would check in with the vet.

| Thanks for the quick replies everyone - I feel better. I gave her some rice and some extra lean beef (we have no chicken and no stores open until the 27th ) I homecook for her so at least they are foods that she is used to. I also made sure she had some extra water in the rice for hydration. She ate very willingly, so that is a good sign. She is tired from all of the excitement of the day so we will make sure she gets lots of rest and snuggling to help her feel better. If she is still having trouble tomorrow I will definitely call the emergency vet clinic. Thanks again! |
