| After induced vomiting ?? Gizmo is doing okay now, but once again he ate something he wasn't supposed to eat. Chris bought Guitar Hero last night and apparently there were a couple of silica gel packets in the box. Well, Gizmo broke into one and ate some of them. Vet said that it's not serious but may cause some GI issues: stomach upset, diarrhea, etc.. and it would be best to induce vomiting with hydrogen peroxide. The hydrogen peroxide worked like a charm, and he's quietly laying down now. It's been an hour or so since he last threw up. Now for my question...should I withhold food for awhile? Normal diet? Thanks in advance.

| I would let his stomach rest for a few hours then feed him as you normally do

| Thank you! He doesn't seem very interested in eating at the moment anyway. I did put out some fresh water though.

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Gizmo, dude, what in the heck is your mommy going to do with you? You are scaring her half to death. Stay out of stuff....lol. So glad that you are feeling better now. Hmmmm...is that why your mommy was mopping the floor? Same with Izzy she has this thing lately for getting into the garbage bag....we only put the bag out when we want to take it outside but leave it open to throw last minute trash in....well....as little as she is she tries to get in too....today while baking..I threw a left over piece of chocolate cookie in the trash and low and behold she got it and now I'm watching her like a hawk. Yikes they worry you all the time.

| You might want to ask the vet about giving him some activated charcoal. My understanding is that it will help aborb whatever is left that didn't get vomitted. I would probably hold off feeding him and then maybe a day or two of rice and chicken. Did the vet mention anything? Poor naughty Gizmo, hope he feels better.

| The vet said that in the small quantity he may have ingested, that it wasn't anything to worry about. The induced vomiting was just a precaution. Thanks for the feeding advice.

She never showed any symptoms. Shortly after, we found the beads on the floor. So if she ate any at all, it was a very tiny amount. | |
