| Best Plaque & Tartar Preventative I'm looking for a way to keep plaque and tartar at bay for my two boys. I was using the C.E.T. Gel until I realized that is contains xylitol (not listed in the english ingedients, only the french side??). What have you found works best on your babies? Price doesn't matter - if it will prevent them from having to be put under for a cleaning, it's well worth the money. So which is your favorite brand?

| I use C.E.T. but it is a paste not a gel and is vanilla mint flavored.

| I've been using Petzlife for about 18 months now. Snickers had a little more build-up than Baxter, and I did see an improvement in a few weeks. Now both their teeth are white and clean, and I use it for maintenance 2-3 times a week. We've never had any problems with it, and it's the only product I've used.

| I use CET toothpaste but as far as I know, it does not contain xylitol (or I wouldn't use it). Their water additive does contain it though. One of the ingredients in the paste is sorbitol which has been reported as safe for dogs.

| I have been using Petzlife on Buddy for several years. Wouldn't be without it. He is 5 now and his teeth are as white and his gums pink as can be. Our vet stated he has never seen any dog with teeth like Buddy at this age. Yayyyyyyyyyyy for Petzlife! |

| we use CET tooth paste to brush daily and use Petzlife 2x a week. My girls teeth are sparkly white. I guess the main thing is to brush daily. There is no such thing as miracle product. You dont see results right away but you will after a month or two.

| I just started using Proden Plaque Off. It's a powder that you add to their food. I've only been using it for about a week and I know things take time, but her teeth are already getting pretty white. So far so good! |

| I just brush Pao with Petrodex Poultry flavour for toothpaste because that is what Pao likes best but I also have the Petzlife Gel and another bottle of oral care liquid that you mix in water. I find that daily brushing is not really enough. It controls the tartar but is not as white as I would like it to be. I am going to start using the Petzlife again.

| Do you brush, or just apply it with your fingers?

| I have used Leba III and one of my yorkies still got buildup on his teeth and it is so expensive. So now I brush with CET toothpaste their teeth look fine but I'll hear what the vet says at my next visit. I do believe that yorkie tooth problems are hereditary and while some methods work for some they may not work for others.

| I wanted to edit my post to add that the vet just told me Ellie's teeth look fantastic for being cleaned 16 months ago. For having had severe periodontal disease and osteomyelitis, eating the dreaded soft textured food and chewing no bones whatsoever, they look really good. We brush daily, floss at least weekly and use OraVet weekly.
