My sis' chihuahua finished her first heat about 3 weeks ago... and her breast look like she had implants. The bottom 4 are enlarged and we are not sure why. Has this happened to any of your furbabies or do you know the cause? Lola was spayed so this never happened to her ...

That's very common after a heat. Every little dog I've ever seen has swollen breasts after a heat and a lot of members have posted about that on here so it's pretty normal

It can be a sign of mastitis(sp?) My girl always does that & after a few days of good exercise they go down. Maybe try that, but if you notice redness I would see the vet asap.

Thanks for the help. My 3.5 lb yorkie female came out of heat a week ago and has enlarged breast. I really appreciate the info. Was worried.

Every little dog I've ever seen has swollen breasts after a heat and a lot of members have posted about that on here so it's pretty normal __________________ ~Magnifique Yorkies~ Purchasing from backyard breeders, pet shops, and puppymills perpetuates the suffering of other dogs. Educate yourself and buy from reputable breeders or rescue.
