| Little Maltese Hi guys, I had a question about my little girl Yesterday she started throwing up a bit (not much) and then spent the better part of the day with the runs (sorry for the crudeness ) but today she may have gone once and that was all. I would need to ask my mom if it was a normal bowel movement or not since I was not home. My question is, what could have caused it? And is there anything in particular I should feed her to help her tummy? She's been sleeping a lot and I think she may be a little sore back there Help! |

| Many different things can cause it, but to help ease her tummy, give her some broiled chicken and white rice, or cottage cheese. Only bland foods like that, and no treats until her tummy is feeling better. She must have gotten into something she shouldn't have like a house plant, dirt, human food or just plain random stuff on the ground. Make sure she is drinking lots of water, so she stays hydrated. If the runs don't go away by tomorrow I would consider taking her to the vet. Is she still playful? Good appetite? Any behavioral changes?

| Well we have an appointment on Thursday for her 2nd set of shots in her puppy series so I figured I would wait until then to discuss it with the vet. She is still playful, maybe eating a bit less but I make sure she is getting water. So its ok to give her people food like the chicken and rice? |

| It's good for their little tummies, and make sure it has no oil, or seasonings, just as bland as can be. Some human food is ok, such as fruits (except grapes) for treats, and broiled chicken, white rice, cottage cheese, and yogurt. These foods are easy on their stomachs and are bland, so it will help your baby get her strength and start to harden up that runny poop.
