| Baby Poof the Roborovski hamster It has now been a month since we have taken "Baby Poof" home! He was only a couple months old when we took him home from PetSmart and now he is GROWING!! He is eating like a little monster. I fill his food bowl up to the top and about 3-4 days later it's all gone. He likes to stuff his bedding in his bowl when he is done. The first couple of days, he didn't know how to use the wheel, so he was very cautious and timid of it. About a week after he attempted to run on the wheel but didn't know how to stop it so he flew from the wheel a bit. He is now very fond of his wheel. His wheel is his special pooping and throwing up place. His favorite treat is Millet. He is about 50% tamed, he lets me pet his fur and takes food from my hand but still hasn't quite trust me enough to let me pick him up and hold him. When he grows a bit older, we will change his name from Baby Poof to Poof. After that, Sir Poof. His final name change when he gets much older is Captain Poof. I will try to post updates about Baby Poof! And a picture/video, tomorrow! Thanks for reading!

| if you have a yorkie and a hamster, i would be very careful of that hamster, If you have a yorkie you can have a dead hamster and an empty wheel, and it wouldn't be the yorkies fault, they, as you know were breed to kill rodents, that instinct is still in them. Please be careful.

| I can't wait to see video of a Baby Poof! My daughter got a robo dwarf hamster her freshman year of college (she was lonely) and snuck it in to her dorm. She named her Chevelle. Chevelle was the sweetest lil thing! My daughter would open up the cage door and say "give me kisses" and Chevelle would scurry over to the door and kiss her! She was so tame and friendly.

When we do, we will put B.P. in a closed room which is completely *off-limits* to the yorkie.

| Good plan, just be careful please. I never heard of a Robo hamster, so I googled it, they are really cute. I use to have hamsters and had several cages with inter connecting tubes so the could get from one cage to another, I had 4 hamsters, I loved when one would get on the wheel and go so fast that it would get thrown out of the wheel, so funny and cute. I love all the names you have selected. Enjoy your lil baby poof, they are a lot of fun.

| We have a yorkie and a hamster. The hamster is VERY tame and although we don't let her out very often without being in her ball our yorkie is terrified of her. The yorkie runs and hides from her. When she is in her ball rolling around the house the yorkie just barks at the ball and runs off. Of course we keep a very close eye on both but it is kinda funny to watch it all play out. |

YT 2000 Club Member | dog I am a yorkie lover and a bird lover. I have zebra finches, a yellow canary, a red belly parrot and 2 cockatiels. When those cockatiels fly down off their cage my 2 yorkies go crazy. I have to really watch them when the cockatiels hang outside their cage. Yorkies are fearless and would go after these birds and hamsters. Mine would! |
