No Longer a Member | Bubba has fleas.. He will be 4 mos on May 8th, and weighs a little over 5lbs. He has critters and now so does Gizmo. Is he old enough to use something for fleas yet? I just bathed him 3 days ago and they are already driving him nuts again. Flea shampoo has not worked. Wandering about the drops for the neck? Last edited by Gizmo's Mom; 04-27-2008 at 04:30 AM. |

| You can use a touch of regular Dawn dish soap to bathe him in...I wouldn't use flea shampoo on such a young pup. Dawn will kill the fleas that are on him, but it won't keep fleas from jumping back on him. Hopefully, someone else has suggestions about how to keep the fleas off.

| Bubba is so cute. I agree with the dawn but with care. It will dry the skin fast.

| yes, you can use flea med for the nape of the neck. Get it from your vet, it goes by weight. I have a 6 month old baby and she's been using it for three or four months |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I can so relate - my girls are 6 & 4 and we've NEVER had fleas but do - I did a thread - this has some good information on it - http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...-grrrrrrr.html and since bubba is 5 lbs - I would ask your vet and get some protection like Frontline Plue or Advantix right away - you don't need a prescription for it but you DO need to treat him - and the DAWN Dish soap really works but is only a TEMPORARY FIX and don't get it near his face or eyes - it would sting |
