I got an early Christmas present, my husband bought my friend's miniature dachshund for me, she needed a new home, her name is Maggie, she is too cute. I don't know alot about doxies, this is my first one, so anyone with one got some good sites for me to look at or advice? She is about 9mths old I think. I am supposed to get her papers at Christmas when my friend gets them from her brother who originally bought Maggie. I am her third home, but her final one, we are already attached to her. CoCo is so independent it is nice to have a lap doggy. Maggie is a sweetheart. Even my hubby loves her already which is saying alot for him! He is so enamoured of CoCo I couldn't believe he would care about any other dog! Here are some pics of her, I will have new Christmas ones later. There is also a pic of my yorkie CoCo too.

She's a cutie! Congratulations! I used to have doxies. My favorite yahoo groups were DachsieWorld and Lovedachs. I have lots of dachshund figurines, if you are interested...

What a lucky girl you are! Dachsunds are awesome pets. I've had two and, even though yorkies are my current loves, dachsunds are one of the most loyal pets you'll ever have. They're easy to train and have an extremely pleasant disposition. I have noticed that they usually take to either the male or female in the home. They're not mean or snooty to the other, they just pay more attention to one.

She's beautiful and I'm glad she's in her forever home. I hate seeing the little angels bounced around. They have feelings too and it must be hard on them.

Post more pics and give her a big YT welcome from Harry, the girls and me!

Thank everyone so much, she is doing great and we just love having her! Her and CoCo redecorated my tree, it was funny.

Congratulations on your new family member. She's a cutie. Is her tail docked? Anyway, the only thing that I can think of about the care of Doxie's is to make sure she doesn't get overweight. They have a long body and it's hard on thier back.
