| I almost hit a dog today I was driving to work and a german shepherd ran out in front of me on a busy street. There was quite a bit of traffic. After I almost hit him, he was almost hit by other cars too. Then, he was walking right in front of my truck down the middle of the lane. He seemed so scared and confused. So, I pulled into a driveway and called over to him to see if he would come. He came over to me, but he kind of kept his distance. He was terrified, so I just sat down on the ground and said "it's okay buddy". Then, he started wagging his tail and came running over to me and sat down and lifted his paw. I shook his paw and patted him on the head and said "good boy". I checked his tags, and his name is "Buddy", which explains why he was so happy and responded when I said his name, not even realizing that it was. There was a phone number on his tag, so I went to grab my cell phone. About that time, a lady came out and told me where Buddy lives. So, I asked her if I could leave my truck in her driveway for a few minutes, and she said that would be fine. I took him home, and his owner didn't realize he had gotten out. She said her backyard is completely fenced in, and he never tries to leave. But, she also said she has two children and Buddy is VERY attached to them. She said that since school started, he has been trying to get out because he really misses the kids. Buddy is so gorgeous, and I could tell he is well taken care of. The lady was so grateful that I brought him back home. I told her he almost got hit several times. She tried to give me a reward, but I told her that wasn't necessary. I was just glad to be able to get him back home safely. As I was leaving, the school bus pulled up and Buddy was soooooo happy to see the kids. I'm really glad he didn't get hit. He seems like such a smart, nice dog. I was 10 min. late for work, but it was worth it to be able to help him out, the poor guy was so scared.

| Oh my goodness, people like you are such blessings! I would stop rush hour traffic to help a dog on the road, because I can't stand seeing "roadkill". Tears up my heart! I am sure you were the angel that the family needed today.
