BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | ADMIN approved YT cook book!! I received this pm from admin on the cook book idea! Would you like to start thinking up all the abbreviations and a standard format for our cookbook? Also, feel free to submit any ideas you may have for the YT Cookbook, since we know nothing about cookbooks, any help would be useful! THANKS for such a creative idea! -Admin Anyone want to help me do this? I just don't think I can handle one more task alone! lol Any ideas will be appreciated! I will make up a new email account just for you to send me recipes to. I will need to get in contact with a publisher. I will post the new email addy in this thread, so keep your eyes peeled for it! Thanks so much! Missy |

| That's great news and Missy a great idea. I no nothing about designing a cook book but I do know you can get binded or spiral. LOL Does that help at all? I think spiral might be cheaper because that's what the school uses from time to time. Recipes no problem. I have them coming out of my ears! |

| Oh exciting!!!!! Just a thought -- if the YT cookbook is formatted so that you could put it in an 8 1/2" x 11" 3 ring binder then each person who purchases a cookbook would simply buy the pages and provide their own ringbinder. Maybe a "cover sheet" could be included for one of the binders that has the front insert pocket. Are we going to have a "name the cookbook" contest? Maybe the winner could receive a free cookbook autographed by none other than our elusive Admin and Yoda...... Last edited by chattiesmom; 06-18-2007 at 12:41 PM. |

| See my reply on the other thread for some tips. Hopefully this will get you started. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...t=83050&page=3 Here is a HUGE word of advice. Don't let people submit recipes just by putting them in the body of an e-mail. Create a template for them to use. This will save a TON of time since they will contain all the correct information and will be formatted correctly. Otherwise you will have to format every recipe that comes in and you will have alot of missing information that will require follow up. This way you just have to edit them. The first thing you should do is decide if you will take the cookbook to a printer who will print and bind the cookbook (spiral is best) or go to a publisher. You can find alot of free templates on the internet or if you use a publisher they will give you a template. Some publishers even have a website where people can go online to submit recipes for the cookbook. If you go to a publisher, they pretty much do everything for you and the end product looks very professional but the profit margin is less. Let me know if you need a template. I have quite a few that you could use or alter.

Great Idea! You could also have a contest for the picture on the front cover. I bet we have some graphic artists on here who could design the cover once a winning picture is chosen.

It will have both, human and doggie recipes. So you don't want this to be called "Yorkie Talk CookBook" ? I'm in for a contest if this is what you all want. Ummmmmmm my idea, I think we should use my dogs lol Sorry, I just think they have star potential lol Maybe if I put them on a cook book, they will be "noticed" lol | |

Maybe there could be a photo contest with a cooking theme and everyone could vote.
