| Currently I am an educator/lecturer at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute teaching Professional Development to engineering seniors (about 50-75 per course and 5 courses a semester). It is quite the challenge teaching a required course and I barely survived my first semester. Before I decided to leave AK I was teaching public speaking at the University there and before I went back to get my master's I was an esthetician in a salon. Now, I am planning on pursuing my PhD in Professional Communication and Organizational Development hopefully starting next Fall. |

| There are a lot of teachers here. What were we thinking when we got into this profession? I ask myself that sometimes. |

| I am a Data Systems Specialist in the Finance dept for a major Insurance company. I have worked for them for 25 years specializing in healthcare Data. Not my dream job but GREAT pay, never could find anything that paid as much so I never changed fields as I got too used to the salary. I do the root cause analysis for all the Data Quality problems with the Systems warehouse OH, I also own/run 3 Children's pageants. YES the Jon Bonet kind - but we make it all about the kids, including a big PJ party with DJ and lots of prizes etc. The kids really do enjoy them!

| Hi Everyone! I just recently graduated from college last week. Hurray!!! I'm finally done with school. I am a Registered Dental Hygienist. I can't believe I did it. I will not be able to work for a couple of months because I have to wait until my license comes in the mail which is kind of a long process. I have been wanting a puppy for a while now, but have not been able to because I was always so busy with school. I figured now that I just graduated this would be a perfect time to be home with my baby. I just got my baby Emmie 4 days ago and I absolutely love her to death. She will be 14 weeks tomorrow and weighs 1lb 9 ounces. She is super tiny. She was a graduation present from my boyfriend. She is the best present I have ever gotten. She couldn't have come at a more perfect time.

| Hi everyone, I've enjoyed reading your stories. I graduated from college with a degree in accounting and worked as a CPA for 3 years before moving into private work for a large coal company. I worked there for 4 years until my first child was born and have been a stay-at-home mom ever since, excluding a temporary stint as a secretary at my church (I loved that job!!). I have a daughter who is 18 and will be going away to college in the fall to study elementary education (I was thrilled to see so many teachers on here!) and an almost 12 year old son. I feel truly blessed to be able to stay home with my kids. When my son is able to drive I may look for something or I may not. My friends and family are spread out all over and it seems I'm forever going off to visit them, ie, no time to work, LOL!!

| I'm the corporate receptionist for Infosys Tech. I have only been with them for about 6months. I was laid off from Xerox Corp. in September of 2004. While I was at Xerox I started out as a copy girl. Then I became a Team Lead. I have been going on and off with school. I haven't decided on what I want to do yet.
