Donating YT 14K Club Member | My Super Sweet 16 Party! Has anyone watched this show that's on MTv? My daughter recently started watching this show and so I watched it the other day with her...ya know...checking out what my child's been watching. N-E-WAYS, HOLY MOSES! You have these SPOILED rich kids that are getting their sweet 16/18 parties and the length these parents go through to make their children happy!!! One parent spent over $300,000.00 on his daughter's sweet 18 party. Her dress alone was over $4,000 PLUS, she got a BMW for her first vehicle! YIKES!!! Has anyone else seen this show????

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I believe it. Kids are growing up with ALL THE WRONG Signals these days - I can't believe the things they have to see and cope with daily. To be a kid these days is not fun - they only stay a KID for 10 years it seems - then boom - things seem to be ALL ADULT but to glamourize totally BLOWING money and being spoiled brats is just plain BAD tv Tell Pretty Girl she doesn't NEED to be watchin that stuff - there's way better things to do than watch a bunch of bratty kids. Rich kids usually have pretty low self esteem cause lots of times the parents just don't have time for them - at least in the AVERAGE home - the parents love the child - Giving a kid everything they want is just doing them a dis-service.

| I watch it whenever I pass by it on tv. It amuses me how much crap grown adults will take from 15 year old kids! When I turned 16, I didn't even get a birthday cake, but my parents gave me $100 and I was so excited to put that towards my first car!

Hey, didn't someone on here say their husband was the producer for this show or something??? Crystal

| I've watched a few shows.... and it is pretty bad. They aren't helping their children by raising them up as spoiled brats. |

| I'm actually moderately addicted to that show. I'm actually ashamed to admit that I'm addicted to what I call Reality Trash, you know what kind of shows I'm talking about. Anyway I don't have kids yet and also don't have the money to give my kids a 300,000 birthday but if I did there is no way I would and further more no way in the world I would if they were that ungrateful. What do you think these parents think of their kids when they watch the shows and see how they are acting? I saw one where a bunch of kids that had been on were in a room and they were all rewatching the shows and talking about everyones' parties. This one girl said something along the lines of "Well we get so much because we deserve it". What? Just because you were born from rich parents doesn't make you better than Joe down the street. The least they could do is be grateful, if they were at least grateful then I would be a little better with it. I get so mad at them, but every time I see it on I still have to watch it.

| I'll have to admit, I do watch the show. Somehow I have hope that I will find one good kid on there that will do something that is not selfish like do volunteer time or give some of that money they are blowing to a good cause. On the first season 2 girls who had a party did charge everyone money to get in and donate it to breast cancer. But kind gestures like that have been few and far between. I also watch hoping that someone will learn some kind of lesson, but so much of it does seem to be scripted. In every episode there seems to be something that the child wants, doesn't appear to be getting, the child throws a fit, and then she eventually gets what she wants. It is very annoying to say the least. But if anything, that show keeps me grounded. I can not say that I have THAT much money. But I am thankful that I have my family, they are all here and they are all healthy. Money can not buy me that. My husband always talks about wanting to get rich and buy our son a brand new car on his 16th. I tell him that if you work your entire so hard your entire life just for money and ignore what you have now, then you don't get to enjoy what really counts in life and you might regret it because money can not buy you that time back. So lets just be thankful for what we have. |
