| Opinion Needed Hey Guys, I haven't been on in quite a while. School and work have been crazy. And i spend my free time doing homework and playing with charlie, so i don't have much time anymore to spend it on here So for speech we have to do a persuasive. I need some ideas. I can't do one on puppy mills because I am informing my class about them on Tuesday (75% of them don't know what they are! So I am excited to do that speech) Anyway I was thinking why not to procrastinate, or why you should have a pet, but there isn't much to talk about. So i need some ideas. Any are appreciated! Thanks in advance.

| I too did a presentation in my speech class years ago about puppy mills. I used a PowerPoint presentation and made sure to include pictures. Most of my classmates as well as my professor had no idea what they were and were horrified by the pictures. Good luck. The dog breed ban would probably be a really good subject. Another one that usually gets things pretty riled up and causes a lot of discussion (teachers usually like that) is abortions (whichever side you stand on).

| How exciting!!! I taught speech for 3 years and loved listening to the persuasive presentations! Make sure to organize using Monroe's Motivated Sequence (if you need help PM me, I'd love to) so you have a solid persuasive foundation. Also be well versed in both sides of the argument so you won't get slammed with questions. What about doing a speech on why animal cruelty laws should be more strict? The recent story about the pit bull could be included as well as the story from a few months ago about the man in NYC who threw the dog out the apt. window, and also a story here in Albany about a couple who could not afford to care for their puppies so they killed them. You could get info on the legal action taken against these people and why the laws are not what they should be. Just an idea.....I'm sure I'll have a ton more for you |
