Donating YT 10K Club Member | Haven't ever encountered one during the day, so your vistor may be sick. We have them here. I live in the 'burbs, but possums are alive and well. We used to leave our garage door cracked for our kitties to come and go, their food was out there too. One time we caught a possum munching away WHILE kitty just WATCHED Another time, we pulled up in the driveway....here comes mama possum under the garage door then quickly following....3 baby possums. Guess she was teaching them where the easy food was. My father and step mother had them come INTO the house by way of a dryer vent. They were finding possums individually, and generally new poops indicated another visitor to look for. Now one time, they knew one was in the house, but hadn't discovered it's hiding place. My step mother pulls open a dresser drawer...guess who POPS up? Yep, Mr. (mrs?) possum. My step mother said she almost had a heart attack. And you think possum pee on the porch is bad....she had to wash everything in the drawer

| EWW! Now, I love ALL animals but, those are thee Ugliest things! I had one camped out in my trash for months, my neighbor caught him in a live trap ,and I didn't ask what he did with him after that. I would take the trash out and he'd move or his beaty eyes would be glowing at me.and you can imagine how many times I about filled my underwear!.And they are MEAN! I was always afraid Bailey would run into him. Luckily, your girls were not at the door with you. That could have been ugly. We have tons here,, and the correct spelling~ FYI~ is "Oppossum",,which I have NEVER understood.

| I remember seeing several during the daylight hours as we walked to school because the kids would throw rocks at them and sometimes kill them. Me and my friend would cry and try to get the kids to stop because it was horrible to see. But yes, they are typically nocturnal but some do show themselves during the day. Only you V would have one christen your porch . Sorry but I just have to laugh

| Another FYI~ When they are out in the day, it is very abnormal and it is usually because they are sick, or possibly rabies, stay away from them or call animal control, My other neighbor had on in her garage, and they had to come out and get it for her.

| My sister has them in Florida. Coming from New York, she's seeing a bunch of critters we've never seen- she actually even thinks the possums are cute!! She was so depressed that her little buddies didn't come out when my bf and I were visiting. (Beleive me- I was fine with it!) That's quite an interesting start to your day, though! |
