My furkids Donating Member | Well....I finally did it! this is day 2 with NO cigarettes!!! the e-cig is doing the trick! I woke up yesterday with not cigarettes in the house...decided it was the day to kick the habit! After the night I had last night, sick grand daughter, sick Dad, who was admitted into the hospital with blood clots in all his major arteries in his leg, I ALMOST drove right to the store to get a pack...something inside me said...GO HOME! I did!! if I could do that on the first day of quitting I would say I am on my way to a smoke free life!!!!!again! I eventually want to give up the e-cigs too...that will come in time but, at least I'm not "smoking"...

My furkids Donating Member | I used to pick a day...that never worked for me. I guess I this was the right time to do it! I'm not sure if I could have done it without the e-cig...Although I did it once years ago and quit for 7 yrs...started back up again when I went through my divorce...I know...bad excuse...with the e-cig I fell like I'm still smoking...not that it tastes the same but, I am still "inhaling" and have something to hold in my hand..It really does take the edge off...Good Luck to you!

| Last time I tried I used the patch and ecigs and didnt have any withdrawls. The only reason why I went back is tthe ecig isnt as satisfying as a cigarette and I told myself I could have just one. This time Im not going to give in to that just one it leads me back to smoking

| I have FINALLY left enough subliminal messages around my home, as well as emails, etc I send to my brother, that he is giving them up again....I have never smoked anything at all, so I can not identify with this habit...but from what I hear from the medical community I am in, smoking cigs is more addictive than cocaine......I have NEVER harped and scolded people that smoke, trying to get them to stop, because until they are at a place in their OWN heads, they cant do it. My brother called me the other night about e-cigs and asked what I thought about them.....I told him all I had researched about them, he got one brand....cant remember which brand it was!..("V" or "Victory" or something...seems like the packaging is black, very elegant looking.....) I like the idea chachi had about the patch in conjunction with the e-cig...if he is having too much trouble, I may suggest that for him....Bless all of you smokers, trying so hard to quit....congratulations to those that succeed, encouragement is in order for those that try, whether they succeed or fail.....deserve something for the effort.....He has quit before, as my momma did...they both had stopped then started back during my father's battle with cancer.....I do want to say this for you that just can NOT seem to quit....my mother smoked AT LEAST 3 packs a day....she smoked the filtered, low, tar, light, whatever the ones are that supposedly have less of the tar and nicotine in them....PLUS she added these filters you can buy....when she had her chest xray done pre-operatively, (she was always terrified of lung cancer and just KNEW she was probably eaten up with it!) her docs were absolutely amazed how clear her lungs were! She was 76 years old, had smoked since she was 18, and they said her lungs were as clear as someone who had not smoked....go figure THAT!!! |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Keep it up BLowry! I'm 748 days w/no smoking. All credit goes to the ecigs!!! Couldn't have done it without them. I'm very greatful! Haven't cheated once either. Yea!!! I was a heavy smoker and getting worse all the time. No more. Drs thrilled and they know I use ecig. I hope it will be a piece of cake for you as it has been for me. Actually using 0 mg nicotine juice with mine for several weeks now. Good luck!

| Actually Ive been to smoking cessation class and they encourage you to use the patch and chew gum both because their isnt enough nicotine in the patch to equal cigarettes/ I dont know if youve ever tried the ecigs but they are the same way. I did it for 2 months last time

| This is fantastic news, I started back up, it was a conscious choice...next time I quit will be the last time....you've inspired me. I hope everything works out for you and I think you've already shown you have the ability to accomplish anything...you are well on your way to being a nonsmoker!

| GREAT!!!!! I got my e-cig last week. Started using it finally a few days ago. I am combining the e-cig with real ones still. Can't seem to just take the plunge. I also think I bought too low of nicotine for it. I bought ultra lights, which is what I smoke... but they seem soooo light that its not satisfying. I bought chocolate flavor in lights and that one is better. I have 2 months today until a cruise so my dh and I made a pact to work out and I signed up for a walking challenge at work where I walk 10 miles a week. I'm hoping the combination of working out and being challenged will help me to pick up the e-cig more than the regular ones. I am making 1 pack last 3 days now though, so I have cut back a bit. I was a 1/2 a pack of ultra lights a day smoker normally. Best of luck to all those trying to quit and congrats to those who have!!!!

| Shows you how much I know about cigs and e-cigs!!! I didnt think the e-cigs were anything but water vapor...didnt know they had them hopped up with nicotine too....you are absolutely correct...too much with the patch as well as the e-cig.....and what do you think I heard on the news this am as I was walking out the door??? Yes, that is right..."studies" have now shown that e-cigs may be harmful to your lungs too! |
