| Remembering Elvis I was reminded this AM that 35 years have passed since the passing of Elvis. Do you remember where or what you were doing when you heard the news? I was at a classmate's house after spending the morning selling school newspaper ads. We turned on the tv and there it was, all over the three stations that we could get in 1977. Both of us knew that it was the end of an era. Last edited by LoALAnna; 08-16-2012 at 12:02 PM. |

| Nope I wasn't born either but I have a dog named Elvis which ended up being the determining push in getting him. Even my 13 year old daughter and newly 8 year old son LOVE Elvis lol noth our dog and his name sake. The Lilo and Stitch movies really aiding in introducing Elvis to another generation, some people are timeless as he is. The family story is my aunta and unclea were at my grandparents for a birthday when it was announced he died.

| I was 13. I was at my mammaw's house who lived next door to us. I had turned on the tv while my mom and aunt where with her in the kitchen. The announcement came on and i could not believe it. I remember running and telling them. I was not a great big fan of his music, though i liked the movies. But i live in Tennessee so of course I heard of him all the time.
