| For Anyone Who Has a Boss . . .Did You Get Any Gifts This Year? This is my first year, in 9 years, that I didn't get anything at all . . .so I'm thinking either I've been a BAD secretary this year . . . or my boss really doesn't like me . . . I've had the same administrator now for 3 years . . he's ALWAYS given me something . . .So, not that I'm entitled to anything, but I am kind of shocked because it's always been the norm . . .He always gets me something for secretaries day, my birthday . . .and usually Christmas . . .except for this year . . .

| A lot of businesses have had to scale back this year because of the economy... people just arent doing well and gifts and bonuses are falling by the wayside... I am sure he would have told you if you werent doing a good job! |

YT 500 Club Member | Well, we always get a turkey at x-mas from the company. We used to get a prise-draw but that stopped last year, but we still get a chance of a £1000 prize if you have 100% attendence and this year I get my £100 bonus for 10 years service, so cant complain too much. |

| Lol I couldn't help but laugh when I read your post, because it made me think of how much I hate my boss. She never so much as comes around, I maybe see her once a week, if I need her to bring me something! So it just made me laugh to think of her ever going out on a limb to get me a card, or God forbid, a gift, for Christmas! But as for you, I think what others posted is probably true, the economy isn't what it used to be, and people are struggling to buy for their own families, so co-workers are S.O.L. A card would have been nice though...

| I am a boss And I have given my workers money and a christmas hamper each, in my way of thinking even though things are tighter this year if I didn't have my staff I wouldn't be in business, granted the cash was not as much as usual but they have still worked hard all year and put the extra effort in when needed so I appreciate it and want them to know that. Merry Christmas every one.:x mastree1:

| I got $500 and a Kodac Photoshare digital picture frame thingy. My DH got a week's salary. DH's work usually has a huge office party with food and drinks and the women who work there and the wives or GFs of the men always get beautiful gold earrings, but that didn't happen last year or this year. Of course we are thrilled that we got anything at all.

| This year we didn't get cost of living raises but we did get the usual bonus ck for Christmas. It is a call center and the full time employees not only get pd for the holidays that we are off, but they get 100.00 ck. Us poor part timers (my choice) do not get paid for days and only get a 50.00 ck. NOT FAIR! We work just as hard as they do.

| DH works 20 hrs a week for a mission and a church where charitable giving has been reduced this year because of the economy. He received a $250 gift. I work part-time for a financial planner (for the past 10 yrs) and instead of the usual christmas gift of $$$ his wife went shopping and bought the 2 of us in the office each a $19.99 3X sweater. I wear an XL and the other girl wears a L . He said that a sweater is more personal than $$$......OK, well, at least there's 2 new sweaters going to the mission clothing pantry. ;(

| I've only been with this company for 6 mos and did not expect any type of bonus or anything but I hear the other people who have been there for several years are not getting any type of bonuses due to the economy and business being down while they have gotten them in the past.

| It would have been nice to get a card, I agree. But this economy is terrible and maybe your boss was embarrassed or just didn't know how to tell you. Whatever, who cares, your still going to have a happy holiday and a great New Year ! |

Donating YT 7000 Club Member | So I don't really have a 'boss' but I babysit a couple times a week for a local family. I just got a card from them with $20 in it. It was completley unexpected. Now I wish I had bought the kids something or Hanukkah like I was planning on doing!

| our company usually gives bonuses and gifts. Times are tough, though, and we were given only a small gift and no bonus. we were not surprised. I love my job and my bosses, so the real Christmas gift for me is going to work everyday to a job I love! |
