I just started a thread in the regional sub forum to our FL members but this might be interesting to others as well.

It will be held on April 2nd for Florida, West Virginia, and Texas. Massachusetts is also in April. It looks like most of the states will be having them. Here's a link to the calendar so you can look up when your state will have there's. https://community.hsus.org/humane/ev...th=2&year=2009

What is Lobby Day?
Humane Lobby Day is an event sponsored by The Humane Society of the United States where citizen animal advocates like you gather to learn and practice lobbying for animal protection laws at the state level. It is a full-day event that includes a lobbying workshop and an overview of relevant bills in your state legislature. Appointments are made for you with the legislators that represent you, so you can visit with the legislators face to face and ask for animal-friendly votes.

The AZ day is Feb 26th - I think I can go, if I can get off work!! I'm kinda nervous - they set up meetings for you to meet w/ your legislators

Oh I hope you can go so I get a sneak preview. I know- it's intimidating to think of standing in front of a legislator and telling him your opinions on legislation. I'm hoping the first half of the day prepares me because I don't think I could do it right now.
