| Venue for 2009 Yorkie Meetup I am not sure if this is a bit early but I think the earlier we start planning the better . . . I know in the past we have tried to get the venue centrally located hoping that more people would make it but that was not the case . . .so perhaps we can start voting on where we should have the next BIG meet-up. I really feel that we should get a location where there are already more members residing in that area to get better attendees . . .flying halfway or across the other end of the country makes no difference in price much anyway . . . I vote for having it either in the west coast or east coast . . my choices are Las Vegas, NV or somewhere in FL |

| I vote for Denver!! I'm moving there in a couple months And as far as airfare is concerned... Denver is one of the cheapest places to fly because it is a "hub" for many airlines. If not Denver... then Monterey, CA I am going to be selfish in my votes, haha. I am from Monterey county and will actually be spending my summers there. My mom lives there too and has 2 yorkies. She would definitely tag along as well. I think Monterey is a good choice if we go with CA because it is on the central coast and fair distance for SOCAL and NOCAL people. It is also amazingly beautiful. However, It is about 1.25 hours from San Jose, the nearest big airport. So that's kind of a bummer. San Fransisco would also be a good place in CA. |

1, like you said, there are a lot of YTers in both places. And 2, I think airfare would be VERY reasonable (probably some of the best prices anywhere) to either of those! Great suggestions And I like your idea of planning EARLY!!! ETA: One more suggestion would be I think everybody needs to pay their registration fee up front before we even have a contract with a hotel, and that way if we don't have enough, it can be refunded to everybody and no need to get a contract or start planning if we won't have a good crowd. Anyone else agree??? As long as it will be FULLY REFUNDED if nothing happens, I think anyone should be able to do that!

| Texas seems central to everyone (maybe), at least there are a ton of yt'ers from Texas. I could combine a visit with my folks to a meet up there. Yeah.... I think Vegas isn't too dog friendly but not sure where or why I heard that and I guess it would also depend on where you stayed, so I'll just not talk about things I don't know about. LOL You go get 'em Des. I hope I can go next year.

| I put on my sheet either NY, FL or CA. I don't know that Vegas is too dog friendly. I would be more than happy to help if it is going to be here in CA. I could help for the others too but I just wouldn't be able to be there until the actualy event. The other suggestion I had was I think it should either be in the Spring or the Fall so it isn't too hot for the doggies. It was REALLY hot in KC for the doggies (and for me )

Therapy Dog Donating Member | We need to pick a place that is: Dog friendly Cost effective Fun with things to do (like doggie parks, doggie bakeries, shopping, outdoor eating) So, I like San Diego, Nashville, Chicago (maybe NYC).

| I have no idea where i'll be living next year.. either still in GA or (hopefully!) Idaho. I think any city that has a major airport would be great b/c airfare is soooo much cheaper! Cause from Savannah it cost me $500 to go to Boise, but only runs like $200ish to Vegas, NYC, and other cities like that. |

| Here's my brainstorming as I read everyone's replies... NY & CA seem costly to me...those of you who live there, am I correct? And I'm not talking about airfare because I don't think airfare differs THAT much, place to place. But as far as dinner, shopping, HOTEL, etc...I KNOW NY is...but is CA a lot too?? I'm actually starting to think TX might not be bad either, and you all sound right about Vegas, come to think of it, I wouldn't imagine it would be good to take our doggies down the strip ...soo....I still say TX or FL ??? I can't wait for new opinions though....as you can tell, mine change a lot ETA: Chicago and Nashville sound like great options too Oh, gosh, this could take a while hehehe OR.....Boston or San Francisco!! There is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much to do in SF...outside stuff...it was my fav vaca I've ever taken!
