Has anyone had "level loop" carpet installed on stairs in the home and has it worn well and was it lasting lasting?

I can't help you because we didn't cover either of our sets of stairs, we just left them wood.

I would love to do that but my staircase is open and the steps have always been carpeted, even before I moved in.... it's not nice tread wood under the carpet it's just pine wood, it would require pulling off all the treads and replacing them and I fear it will destroy the stringers in the process.....

I didn't know any better the last time I put carpet on and just used the same carpet as in the living room and it did not last long, I read I should have used level loop for the best wear, I just want to be sure......Thanks for responding...

Are you going to have it just as a runner or cover the entire stairs?

It has to cover the whole thing if I'm not going to replace the treads.....
