| We had a crazy bird once his name was stevie (as in stevie wonder) he did the head sway and he picked up my baby's cry so It was hard to tell if it was the bird or the baby. Sounded just like the baby!! Weird bird

| This was back in the days when they sold them at pet stores. Also when animal welfare wasn't exactly in the forefront of everyone's minds. They're very cute when they're little~ just like everything else. I wonder whatever became of all the other little alligators that got sold then? I think my dad though it would be funny at the time ; Go figure..he's an attorney

My male cockatoo did the same thing, and the weirdest thing is, the first time I ever saw him do it was right after I had been watching some music special on tv (his cage was in the same room as the tv) with Stevie Wonder on! I thought he was imitating Stevie, and I was hysterically laughing at him. Later I found out that it's actually a sexual behavior , and if he kept doing it, he'd eventually get dizzy and throw up . Birds are quite the pets, aren't they, LOL?

| You can see in one of the pictures... that was about a month after we had her.... where the raw parts of the tendon are showing.... the vet was going to take it off, but we didn't want to sedate her and since the better part of it was gone, and she was so good about "tending" to it, he said to let her take care of it.... which she did... aside from some antibiotics in her food each day for a while, just in case, we didn't do anything but watch her closely.... she ended up (sounds gross I know) chewing through and keeping the raw areas perfectly clean... by the time we released her 5 months later, she was completely tail-less... but healthy and strong!!

| When I was young my Dad caught me a chipmunk, I kept him for a couple of weeks then let him go. I had two hermit crabs named Elvis & Priscilla(I was in love with Elvis at the time). I had a cherry headed conure parrot when I first lived on my own. PJ wa his name and he was the meanest bird I had ever owned, couldn't even touch him without him biting me. He was dark emerald green with a red head, absolutely beautiful. I have of course had other common pets throughout my life as many of you have as well.

| Ssshhhh! Although it is iligal here, we have a tortoise. I inherited him from my parents when they passed. An aunt had given him to my parents about 45 yrs ago. He is completely tame, lives in a tiny house my dad had made for him. The house is on our covered patio which lead to the "yorkie yard". He is best friends with one of my cats, Munchie! He eats watermelon, tomatoes, lettuce and SNAILS. It's great because he keeps the snail population in my garden down. When he hears my voice he comes "running to me" They are actually quite fast. He often comes in the house and finds me in here on YT. I know it is wrong to keep wild or protected animals, but after all these years he would not survive in the wild. Plus, I love him to bits. | I had a pet raccoon named Rocky. I found a new home for him after he bite me one day while I was trying to take away his crawfish bowl. After that I was just not comfortable handling him. They are really neat pets though. |
