| I can't believe what a customer said As some of you know, I work in a shoe store. Today I was helping a customer and we were talking about dogs chewing on shoes, and she said she would get rid of her dogs before her shoes! I had to keep my mouth shut but it was so hard, so I just said "uhh, not me" and quickly said "Are you all set?" If I wasn't at work I would've let her had an earful! But it was hard because you have to represent the company. I really can't believe some people. I honestly hope she was joking, but her tone didn't sound like it.

| Some people just don't know the joy of having the love of a pet. It's really sad for them.

| I bet she does not even have a dog. If she did, she never would have said something so shallow.

| I agree...however, I wish someone could bring over their 130 lb. big ol' drooling, farting, chewing machine of a dog, and let it snack on some of her shoes!

| How stupid... just keep the stupid shoes put up where they belong (not laying around everywhere) and the dog can't chew on it. I've always said if a dog gets ahold of something, it's YOUR fault...we have the ability to put items away or up high where dogs can't reach them. If shoes are laying on the floor and a dog chews them...owners fault

Now my business/ work shoes! Sometimes that stinker nibbles on those too! I swear I can't turn my back for a second, but I love ever bite mark an tooth hole!

| Luckily Lacy has only ever chewed up one of my shoes before. And like I said, my fault for leaving them lying around. They were some cute hot pink high heals, but luckily they were very inexpensive. Lacy was younger when she did it. She hasn't chewed any shoes since then. I usually leave some flip flops and a pair of tennis shoes by my front door all the time and she never messes with them. You know what I don't understand are toys that look like shoes! Why would you give your dog a shoe to play with?!? Seems like they might confuse the toy with real shoes...

My furkids Donating Member | That was a dumb comment! Don't leave your shoes hanging around where the dog can get at them! My girls have never chewed on my shoes but, Sadie chewed hubbys belt once when we left her alone!! That will teach him for not putting it away!! LOL

| Some people will never "get it" even if they did own a dog. I have a friend who has two miniature poodles and she doesn't like them at all. She bought them for her sons, who begged her for a dog, and she would never abuse them or not take them to the Vet when necessary, but she is totally not in love with them. She barely looks at them.

| That's kinda what I was thinking when she said it. Imagine other things she would put before the dog too, like maybe a new coat instead of a vet bill, new shoes instead of food...Maybe I dont want to imagine it

My moms dog chewed up a pair of metallic pink pumps of mine from Aldo, and I've only worn them once! I was soo upset, but the thought of getting rid of him didn't even cross my mind, I can't imagine how anyone could think like that.

| my girls never chew any of my shoes..i have shoes where they can reach but they never do. Even if they did, i will not get mad at all. I agree with myfairlacy, it's your fault for leaving the expensive shoes around. I keep my expensive shoes in the shoes closet where they can't reach. I love my babies tooo much to get mad. shoes are always replaceable. Not our furbutts!

| my TommiGirl ignores my shoes. She loves her toys only. My kids try to give her their socks but she runs to her toys all the time.
