| Mr. Maxwell wants to meet you!! Hi all I am new to the forum. I have never owned a dog before and didn't want to get one until my daughter was old enough to be responsible. Even though she still has her moments she is 14. Well a guy at my job no longer wanted his yorkie, Maxwell. I adopted him on July 24th. We are happy to have him and it has been an adjustment!! He wasn't properly socialized as a puppy and is overly aggressive towards other dogs. If anyone has any tips, please let me know how to correct this problem. Other than that- he is very affectionate and loves belly rubs. |

| Not sure if he is overly aggressive towards other dogs ALL the time? Or mostly in his own space (yard/house)? Cooper is a terror when other dogs come to visit and he has always been around other dogs....it is just his warrior personality......but when we go to someone else's house to visit he is totally different. One thing that works for us is when he sees another dog and BEFORE he goes crazy at it barking we say easy, easy, easy real quite and look in his eyes (trying to get his eyes on me instead of the other dog) then if he lets the other dog pass without barking I instantly give a treat......it has worked well for us, again if it is in his space not so much, but on walks etc, has helped a lot.
