I had to take bailey to the groomers 2day and get all the bad mats cut out of his hair so we can now start a freash and try and make sure he doesnt get matted up again. here is my little baby now.

Yeah for Bailey ! HE WILL GROW A NEW COAT SO FAST ! JUST REMEMBER TO COMB HIM AND EXPECIALLY AFTER HE GETS A BATH YOU MUST COMB WITH A METAL COMB HIM ALL OVER TO MAKE SURE HE HAS NO KNOTIES ! MY GROOMER TOLD ME THIS 2 YRS AGO AND I HAVEN'T HAVE TO SHAVE MY KATIE EVER AGAIN ! SHE GET A HAIRCUT BUT NEVER SHAVED ! plus she comes to me to get combed - GOOD LUCK !

Don't worry, I had to do the same thing with my Brandi. I have a pic of her at work on my computer so Brandi has been called everything from Yoda (on Star Wars) to Dumbo the Elephant.

I woke her to take this pic. This was the same day she got her hair cut. That was back in October. She is just finally now beginning to look like a Yorkie now. I figured by the summertime, her coat will be beautiful. I give her a bath on average every two weeks. People actually thought she was a dachsund puppy with hair!

Isn't she the funniest looking Yorkie you ever seen? I can't wait until her hair grows back!

i brush bailee with a slicker brush...i have a metal comb but she is not usually that knotty...am i missing knots by not using it?

My groomer said no slicker brush on Baxter. She also suggested metal comb and actually gave me one. No more knots if I comb Baxter every night.

Apparently, the slicker brush is just for finishing and doesn't go deep enough - a metal comb (with two levels of teeth) is best, I find.

Aw thanks for all the lovely comments about my baby, he does look like a pup again and is struting around the house with his new hair do

he had LOTS of jumpers to keep him warm and yesterday at the groomers i seen a collar he just HAD to have! i use a stickler brush too, i guess i might have to go out and get him a comb
