My baby died in my arms this morning... I am new to this forum. I needed some kind of outlet to tell someone of my loss. She has been failing for a few days now, she was 15 1/2. She was the best dog in the world. I was just getting ready to take her to the vet to have her put down, and she took her last breath in my arms. She was our original baby - we had her for many years before the kids even came along! It is so hard to let her go. We plan on having her cremated so that we can all have closure as a family. Little Nipper will be missed. Thanks for listening. Lorie

Little Nipper Lori, I am sorry about little Nipper, I know that no words will ease your pain, only time can do that, but you will be left with a lot of wonderful memories I am sure. If you send me a picture, with birth date and anything you would like said about her I will add her to my souls page at my website. It is located at http://yorkieviews.com/dogsoul.htm . There is also a Rainbow Bridge section on my Forum board, http://yorkieviews.com/forum that you can post about your little one

Im so very sorry for your loss..but I also think that it was wonderful how Nipper chose to die in your arms, she must have felt so at ease being able to leave peacefully whilst being hugged by her mommy. What a beautiful way to go...at least she was in her home and with the one she loves, everything was familiar and warm.I can only imagine how upset you must be..Im so sorry.

Lori, I am so sorry about your loss. My little Half-Pint also died in my arms, we only had her one week. You are so blessed to have had Nipper as long as you did to give you so many beautiful memories. Time will heal the pain and leave you with many years of memories.

Little Nipper is in Yorkie Heaven now. At least she was able to be with her Mom in her last moments and that 15 years is a long life for a Yorkie. Just remember all the happy times she has given you and your family and remember her well.

Thank you all so very much for the kind words... I cannot tell you how much it means to me. DH is at work, the kids are at school... I know you all would understand. There is nothing like a yorkie baby to have and to love. I know that we were lucky to have her for this long, but she is so very much missed already. We still have her buddy Rudy to love, but Rudy just isn't Nipper! Rudy arrived when Nip was 3 to keep her company while we were at work all day. Their personalities are so very different! Rudy reminds me of a typical guy - doesn't let much bother him! Thanks again everyone. You've made my day just a little bit easier.

So adorable in that picture! Yes, each little Yorkie has their own distinct personality. Just don't penalize Rudy for Nipper being gone. I'm sure Rudy will be depressed that his buddy isn't around any more, so he needs some extra love! I feel for you, it's incredibly sad to lose a loved one. Let your emotions out online or in real life. I believe that's good for the grieving process.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I'm sure you gave Nipper the best life possible, and what a happy and full life she must have led. Don't worry. My little Archie will take care of Nipper in doggie heaven. He's up there, too.

Max will always have a part of my heart as he was my first yorkie. Nipper was a lucky girl to have 15 years with you........................Cindy |

Lorie, i am so sorry to hear about your lost. But she died in your arms... I don't know, but must have been a comfort for Nipper. Your doggie is in Yorkie Heaven now. I know it is too soon to think like that of Cosita since she is too young... but It is more likely she will go first than me (well, we don't know what God has for us), but just to think about it, gets me sad. -R
