| RIP Chloe 2/28/14 to 5/16/14 My puppy I feel was killed by the vet I was told to take her to from the pet store. She was fine till the vet gave her the parvo, distemper, and lepto shot all at once. Being a large breed owner normally I trusted her to do right and only found out afterwards that she shouldn't have had all those shots at once and should never have had the lepto shot at all. They said she went into respiratory failure from pneumonia but she didn't cough or sneeze. I'm am eagerly awaiting the autopsy report from the state university as I would not let them do it like they suggested. I am beyond pissed!!! The pet store made good and have me her sister whose name is sophie and she is great but this poor puppy Chloe shouldn't have passed away. |

| I'm very sorry for your tragic loss. I hope Sophie is healthy and that she brings you great joy and love. I have had five Yorkies, and none have had the Lepto vaccine because we are not at great risk here. |

| I am so sorry to hear this sad news about your sweet puppy, Chloe. I hope you do find out the truth concerning her passing. It is such a tragic thing to have happen especially when you entrusted her welfare to your vet. While I know you cannot replace her, I hope your new addition may bring you many years of happiness. Sophie is a sweet name. I bet she is as sweet as her name! |

| You did the right thing taking your pup to the university for the autopsy......as a new, first time yorkie owner, you must get your hands on anything you can, to educate yourself about this precious breed....they have issues that other breeds do not have......vets do not always know about things that Yorkies have a lower or adverse tolerance to, unless they have a large Yorkie practice. There are blood sugar issues, anesthesia issues, intolerance to particular shots/meds/vaccines that other dogs do not have.....you have to select a vet like you select a pediatrician for your kids, because what that vet knows about Yorkies, is all that stands between your pup and Death. Get two books to start off with...."Yorkies for Dummies" and "Yorkshire Terriers: A Smart Owners Guide"....these two books contain all the most vital information you will need to know in order to keep that baby healthy and alive. There is a check list, I think, of important things you should be asking any vet you are selecting, so you will know that they are small dog specialists and even have the knowledge base to provide care for small dogs in general, Yorkies in particular. |

| I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine a vet giving all those shots at once to a baby Yorkie. So sad.

| I am very very sorry for your loss of sweet Chloe may she RIP. I always give mine one vac at a time and wait a month in between to go back for the next. I hope that vet thinks twice before she ever does that again to a small breeds. on Google plus there is a page called regret a vet and you can tell your story there if you wanted to spread awareness and let others know they may not want to visit that vet with a small breed. Just a thought. sending you many hugs.

| I am very sorry for your loss, up until I found yorkie talk I never thought much about having all my past yorkies vaccinated at one time, I guess I was pretty lucky that nothing happened, now all shots are given one at a time. In regards to Lepto, all my yorkies have had it with no problem, but then I live on a lake with lots of wild life so I don't want to take a chance of her contracting it. You might want to find out more about where the pet store got your puppy from, it might be good to know her lineage.

YT 500 Club Member | You know...sometimes I really wonder if all these vaccinations necessary. Other than the Rabies, do they really need them..when I was growing up I always had does and they NEVER received vet care of any kind. None of my puppies died from anything. They either just got old or hit by a car or something. But they were never sickly dogs. Sorry for your loss |
