today that I lost my beloved Sunnie. I still can hardly believe you are gone. You were such a good and gentle boy and deserved to live a LONG life. But God must have needed you more than me although I cannot imagine that. Sunshine misses you a lot. I see her smell your bed and lay down to sleep in it. Beamer, Rainbow, Ladybug and Tilly and of course your Daddy miss you too. I miss seeing you lay down on the bed with your teddy in your mouth until you fall asleep. That always made me smile. I like to believe that you are being a gentle kind greeter at Rainbow Bridge, and helping ease the way for other furbabies. I love you my surfer boy and will see you some day. Love Mommy

I remember too when you posted here. How devastating and unbelievable the loss of sweet Sunnie. I cried for you then, and again now, I will keep you in my prayers, as your pain and heartache are gently replaced by fondest memories...

I just reread Sunnie's original thread...and I can't even begin to imagine a loss so sudden like that.

I pray you are in a better place tonight with thoughts of Sunnie being the official RB greeter welcoming my foster boy, Toby who passed yesterday.

I am so sorry that you lost your little boy Sunnie last year. I know how painful it still must be for you. After reading about Sunnie, I hope he welcomed my precious Ashley when she went to the Rainbow Bridge on June 5th. That would be really nice.

I wasn't a member last year when you lost your Sunnie, but I want to say how sorry I am that he had to leave. Sunnie sounded like such a special little boy and I know you must miss him so much. He left you with memories to cherish forever.

Hugs to you Sonya as you remember your sweet Sunnie on the anniversary of his death; I too remember hearing about it.
I love your description of remembering how he laid with his teddy til he fell asleep & how it made you smile. I can picture it in my mind and it made me smile too. Memories are a good thing to help heal the hurt.

aww thank you all for your kind words. It really is hard to lose one of our precious family members and even harder when it is so unexpected. I know that everyone says to give it time and I have to say that yes, time does help heal the heart. I will never forget my sweet Sunnie. He was my first purebred yorkie and because of that he earned the privilage of being named after me (my lifelong nickname has been Sunnie)He was such a beautiful boy with the sweetest kindest beautiful brown eyes I have ever seen. It is comforting to know he is in a better place and to know that so many of you remember him and how special he was. Thanks
