| I Miss You, Spikie! Daddy Was Thinking About You Again... Here's another poem that expresses all too well the way many of us here are feeling... To Spikie: MY FOREVER PET There's something missing in my home, I feel it day and night, I know it will take time and strength before things feel quite right. But just for now, I need to mourn, My heart -- it needs to mend. Though some may say, "It's just a pet," I know I've lost a friend. You've brought such laughter to my home, and richness to my days. A constant friend through joy or loss with gentle, loving ways. Companion, friend, and confidante, A friend I won't forget. You'll live forever in my heart, My sweet, forever pet. -- Susanne Taylor |

| Thank you for posting this. I'm having a hard time dealing with the first anniversary of my Becca's death, and this poem says so much about how I feel. I am so sorry for your loss. Little Spike was obviously very well loved. I wish I knew of something to help you through this, but I'm finding out that time really is the best healer. God bless you!

| Beautiful poem, thank you for sharing it with those of us that are grieving the loss of our furbaby. It's been 3 weeks today that I lost Olivia...I still expect to see her following me throughout the house.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Thanks for sharing that. With gardening time upon me I am missing my pom Maya so much. She would find a shady spot and lay outside while I gardened for hours. My heart goes out to all of you who have lost a beloved pet.

| Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem. It has me in tears as I just lost my beloved cat Lestat 5 days ago after having her 20 years. There are people who don't know what it is to lose a pet. It's like losing a family which in fact they are family to us. |
