Aside from the obvious symptoms of going into heat, is growling and snarling when you try to "take a peek" one of them?

I had Kalina groomed today and Crissy said that she thought Kalina looked swollen and might be going into heat. I was shocked. She's only 6 months old and my Vet said to wait until her baby canines fall out to get her spayed.

Anyway, I have been trying to look, but she is not about to let me - growling and snarling and just getting crazy. Is this a normal reaction if she IS going into heat? She is also licking a lot!!

I don't know. When Penny was in heat she was more then willing to roll over and let me look. Another YT member told me they get cramps like we do, so maybe she's just not feeling well.

Sorry don't have a answer but...how can precious little kalina be cranky?? LOLShe is such a cutie pie!!

Maybe she has an infection that is hurting her on her "little self", and that's why she won't let you look? Could also explain why she's swollen...

Kalina is acting normal today. She let me rub her belly, etc. I don't know if she looks normal or not, because I never really looked "before". I guess time will tell.

we get moody sometimes

my charliegirl(my poodle)she will be going in heat soon she is getting moody i feel so sorry for scrappydoo she is getting snappy with him .

Not that Im always checking out her little thingy lol but it just looked bigger today

She's totally fine now - I'm not sure what to think though.
