| Weight gain question.... Hi, So I have a question about an 'older' dog gaining weight. This seems a bit odd to me. My boys had thier rabies shot in Dec 06. They were 1 year, 3 months old. Dexter weighed 4.4lbs and Fletcher weighed 5.6lbs. Now they are 2 years and 1 month old. Dexter weighs 6lbs and Fletcher weighs 9lbs. Is that normal to gain THAT much weight at that age??? About 2 months ago I put them on Royal Canin food and they both seemed to gain at least a 1 - 1.5lbs and they both seem really filled out (aka - chubby!!) But before that food, Dexter was 5.5lbs and Fletcher was 8lbs (roughly). Just seems so odd that they gained that much weight AFTER they were already over a year old. Don't you think?

| You might want to cut down a little on what you're feeding them. I bet they're still as cute as can be.

| oh yeah, they are adorable... but its not all weight gain from food, they both have gotten bigger in general, like their frames, height, etc... I just thought it was bizarre that they got bigger after they were over a year. Like when fletcher was 7.5lbs he was all bones, you could feel every vertebrae in his spine. I don't want him like that at all, but that means he has to be at least 8lbs and he was 5.6lbs at a year and 3 months. hhhmmm and Dex could be down to 5lbs (hes about 6lbs right now and a little chubster - so he is more of a food issue) but even still he was 4.4lbs in dec at 1 year 3 months. Just funny how they had growth spurts so late
