| A delicate and maybe strange? topic Ok..Im not quite sure how to word this so bear with me please... Ive had Bob now for a yeah and a half..When I first took him to the vet they said that he was neutered..Ok..But ...I always thought..hmm..Whoever did this neutering business sure did a great job becaue there isnt even a mark on him..none..Ok..now...at least 3 times now I have seen TWO little pea size test. on him!!! I think he is NOT neutered! So whats the deal here? When you look at him he just looks like he doesnt have any..then BOOM! On occassion you might see them...Am I cracking up or is that normal or what? I hope Im not sounding like a total idiot here..I just need to know.. Thanks |

| Do you mean two hard little balls on either side of his penis? If you mean those then that is not his testicles, they are called 'bulbus glandis' and appear whenever a dog is aroused. |

| where are you seeing the bumps. after logan got neutered he would get these two bumps on his tummy when he was starting to get aroused. If they are on his belly they are probably not testies....if they are back by his bum then they might be & you should take him into the vet because he might have un-descented testicles.

| I have two neutered little boys and I have never seen their testes come back down since they were neutered. Are you sure that he is not just "aroused"? When they get aroused there are two little balls on the sides of their penis that get hard and are visible. |

| Don't feel silly, we all learn new things on YT every day. It's the 'bulbus glandis' that swells when he mates a bitch, and her muscles contract behind it to form the tie. Perfectly normal |

| I don't really know what to tell you. I would think without testies there is no gland producing testerone so what is making them aroused, but logan gets aroused all the time & he's been neutered for a year & a half. And don't feel bad Logan is my first male dog & I freaked out the first time I noticed it. It was right after he had been fixed & I thought something went wrong with the surgery. I tried to call my vet's cell phone, but didn't get her so I ran him out to my mom's & by the time I got there the swelling had gone down. She told me that the same thing happens in horses right after they are gelded & then it goes away. Come to think of it I haven't noticed the bumps in a long while, but he still does get aroused.

| Yep, boys can still get aroused even though they've been neutered. I had my husband done a couple years ago. No problems.

| Don't feel silly for asking. Actually, I own my first male and would have freaked out if I noticed the same thing. Mine is not old enough yet to be neutered but at least you saved me a panic attack later. We never learn if we are to afraid to ask questions. No question is silly or bad unless it goes unasked.
