| bug fun It all started when Ollie was just 3 1/2 months old.......in the late evening he was playing under our porch light when suddenly he sat and looked up at us and titlted his head with the funniest expression ever!!! Then again another head tilt.... my son opened his mouth and out flew a moth to its freedom!!! Then one day he actually caught a grasshopper -who didnt stand a chance!! He repeatedly laid his chin on it and chased it around and when the poor thing could no longer hop Ollie threw him through the air over and over trying to start all the fun over again. But then to my surprise when the grasshopper would not play...Ollie gobbled it right up---ewww yuk!!! His favorite is the cicadas!!! Oh my his tail almost wags right off his little butt!!! They buzz and flutter when he pounces on them and seem to survive much longer than any other bug... he brought one into the house once and we were rolling with laughter and took many pics!!!! Now his new thing is spider webs. With the fall weather coming and all the webs between my hostas and bushes--- the first thing he does is inspect all webs he spots and if a tiny little eight legged creature is in sight then he hops right into the web... no the dirt, mud or mulch makes no difference to him when he is bug hunting. One time after leaping and leaping after a fly... my son lifted Ollie up so he could inspect it and GULP he ate it!!!!!! Does anyone else have a little bug hunter? |
