| New little girl Hi everyone.. I just wanted to start a new thread.. since I now have a new puppy on the soon to pick up list.. The breeder was going to let me pick her up tomorrow.. but she just had her first needle on Monday and she finished her last deworming on Tuesday. The thing is that she has some loose stool and the breeder wants to wait until she see's a solid stool before letting her go. Is it normal for them to have loose stool after needle and deworming ? Do you think she will be okay for me to bring her home when her stool is back to normal ? She weights 2 lbs 4 ozs.. will be 8 wks old next Tuesday. So just 2-3 days before she is 8 wks.. I got Hannah around 9 wks.. she is 9 months old now and I have never seen a loose stool with her at all. The breeder says that she just has an upset tummy and may be a little stressed from the needle and deworming med. Do you all think that if I wait till even Saturday it would be better ?

| i know its past the 20 minute mark but says they can have loose stools after deworming and vaccines.. i know some people dont like the idea of pups going to new homes under the age of 12 weeks but i see nothing wrong with getting them at 8 weeks especially at 2lbs or more. |

| I'd wait till Saturday. The longer with the mommy the better.

| I would wait for a least a couple more weeks to get her if I were you. 8 weeks is way to early to be leaving its mommy. Did they do a stool sample on her first. She could have coccidia or giadaria. The longer you wait, the better off you and she will be. |

| I've talked to the breeder , her stools are back to normal.. it was just a little loose the first time I was talking to her.. it wasn't nothing out of the normal. So I guess I was just too worried for nothing.

| I would leave the puppy with the breeder for at least another two weeks. 8 weeks is too young to leave...
