| I dont really know, but I switched to canidae since it had mostly only what they needed and not fillers, so he eats less by getting what he needs in less amounts. I didnt research it in depth...comparative.....I justliked canidae an dhe LOVED IT...i was shoked, sice he had only eated RC before.

| royal canin I feed Freyja royal canin and she seems to like it best. She is a bit fussy so I give her what she eats. Freyja only weighs 5.8 lbs so I don't think she's big. Just my 2 cents worth Patti & Freyja |

| Squeaky will only eat Royal Canin - unless he's at Grandma's and then he eats his sister's Science Diet. He is 6 years old and weighs 6 pounds. The only problem I've had with his weight was when he'd stay with his Grandma and she'd feed him treats all the time. I explained that we didn't do that at home and it was important to keep his weight down. |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | RC has a lot of protein in it which may make them gain weight but is not going to make them grow taller or longer. It does have a lot of fillers which causes them to poo a lot more than some other foods. Right now, my dogs are on Nutro Natural and they have gained weight. We've finished up their food and I'm switching them over to one that they've been on before. I don't mind dogs with a little weight but I just don't want them overweight...it's not healthy for them.

| We've used Royal Canin Yorkshire 28 for years, along with raw meat (from Darwin's Natural Pet Food - http://www.darwinspet.com ) for both Yoda and Winky. Yoda was a little heftier when he was younger, but that was mainly because we gave him a little too much in terms of treats. They are both within the weight range for Yorkies. And they both only poop once a day. |

| I used to feed Sadie RC adn I don't think it made her bigger. She does weigh less now, but the food that she is on now is a prescription food that is high fiber/low fat, so of course she would lose some weight on it. But no, I don't think the RC makes them bigger.

| Lucy is still on RC puppy at 6 months. She just hit 4 lbs even. I have tried to switch her over to Canadae but she refuses to eat it and I've tried everything. I free feed her and most of the time she doesn't finish a 1/4 cup per day. She poops twice a day and they are very small (thankfully I think it just depends on the dog maybe? I sure would love to switch her over to the Canadae

| Right decision?????......... we switched!!! After doing some research, and reading YT threads, I know that RC has CORN in it. My two furballs LOVE it, but Shelby is a little on the hefty side. We have been staying off the treats for awhile now, and she has lost a little weight. But not as much as I was hoping. I definitely don't want her to be hungry, and so cutting way back on her food is not an option. (I have been giving the smallest amount according to the portion instructions for her size). We have purchased a bag of Nutro Ultra small breed ( the kibble seems to be a little smaller actually..... and a little more "flat-shaped" than round). I have been introducing it to them, just a very small amount at a time. Within the last 2 days I have noticed that their poop isn't near as "stinky" as it was with RC. Don't know if it is the corn or some type of filler that makes it a bit more odorous. (is that a word???? ) I am hoping for good results..... and that there is no allergy issues...... and so far with the "new food intro" it is really working out well. They LOVE the taste of the Ultra, too!! ......... What do you think??? Did we make the right decision????
