| Last night.... NASTY maltese! So last night I go to the package store and Im checking out and this woman is holding a little white maltese. I say "oh cute puppy' and she says something I cannot make out. So I say "i have 2 little ones myself" and the girl (her daughter maybe - both were working - think they own the store) says "oh what do you have?" I said "yorkies" the girls is like "oooohhhhh I want one soooooo bad.... if you breed them can you call me??? " blah blah... so I tell her they are 2 boys so there won't be any puppies, but I heard about a good breeder 2 towns over, you can look it up on the internet... she thanks me profusely! at that moment the Maltese tries to lunge over the counter, out of the older womans arms and is snarling, barking, snapping in the air... and thats when it clicked what the woman said to me that I couldnt make out "Hes MEAN!" I learned that very quickly!! So I said to the girl... 'you might want to think twice about putting another small dog with that dog, that is not really a good idea'. YIKES!!! I hope she does not try to find that breeder to get a yorkie!

| that maltese was probably mad you told his owners where to buy another dog to add to the family.. he knew he wouldn't be the only one anymore!! haha. (he was probably like: 'those damn yorkies always get all the attention, im just as cute!!') haha. just jokin. im sorry he did that-what a lil brat!! Why would the owners bring their dog to a place where people come and go, if they know it's mean?? thats kinda weird!!

| Scary! It really gives me a fright when these little sweet toy dogs show their aggressive side...

| Oh it was not scary! it was almost laughable to see a like 4lb dog think hes going to kill me! HAHA But I did not laugh so I did not offend his sensativities!! hehe I just hope this girl realizes she cannot put another pup with this one without testing it out first! I think this maltese was NEVER socialized at all! Both mother and daughter could hold it no problem though!

| I can not beleive an Maltese can be that mean.. Or maybe the poor little thing had a tooth ache or PMS.. THERE COULD BE SO MANY REASON. Maggie was lock up in a cage and never really had much people contact and is so sweet . She does shy away from people though until she knows them. But has become the big sister to all by girls now..

| Maybe the maltese was just a fearful dog. My cousin's mini-pin is the same way and I can assure you 150% that she is NEVER mistreated. She is great with family, but does get scared and snappy around people she does not know. What makes them this way? Who knows?!! I do think that there can be several factors- not just abuse and non-socialization. It upsets me when people are so quick to make a snap judgement. Just because a dog snaps/growls, does NOT mean it was mistreated and not socialized. This is one of my pet peeves. Dogs are like kids in the fact that you can be an AWESOME parent and "do everything right" and still have problems. Some are easy-some are not!!! If you happen to be one that had it easy from the get-go, then consider yourself lucky. People that judge just make a difficult situation worse.
