| Bath: how often? Some tell me "never... only if she REALLY needs it... like if she's covered with mud or something... you can't mess with her natural skin oils...just groom" Others tell me once a week... Bit will be 7 month soon. I started by bathing her once every two weeks... now I wait as long as I can, like until she's really, really filthy and smelly (every two month or so...) Yet I would really like to know what's best for her... for her skin... |

| I do once a week. Just depending on there skin type. Some will dry out once a week, some won't. You just have to see how your yorkies skin does. Is there skin very dry? |

| I don't think so... it seems to be really sensitive thought. Once she felt in my mothers pool and she wouldn't stop scratching until I gave her a bath a couple of hours later. The next day she still scratched a little. I should say that, even if she doesn't have any apparent skin problems (I've checked and it looks just fine and healthy) she scratches a lot sometimes. Some time ago she had fleas so it was normal that she did so... That's why I'm wondering about the baths frequency... does she scratch because I don't bathe her enough or because I do it too often? |

| Ok, we have been told by a vet who has shown Yorkies that they 'should' only be bathed 1-2 a month. This is of course if your baby can stay clean! We usually end up doing 3-4 a month, but try to avoid it due to Peanut's dry skin... probably the case with many yorkies.... Oatmeal shampoo has done wonders for us

| In the winter i can get away with once every two weeks... but in the summer it is every week... she just gets so dirty.... i use Cranberry Fields shampoo and conditioner which is just WONDERFUl for dry skin, which Layla has. If herwhole body doenst' need a clean i'll just do around her face because that is ALWAYS dirty i'm sure i could shampoo her little moustach every day if she let me! |

| I bathe mine once a week too in the summer. They just get too darned dirty and stinky! Muffin has a little dryer coat so I use an oatmeal shampoo on her and it seems to help keep the dryness and itching down. In the winter I bath them about every 10 days.

| I always bathe Lacy at least once a week - normally just once a week. I can't imagine going two months without bathing her..Gross.. She would be discusting - oily and stinky. Lacy never gets that dog smell. By the end of the week she doesn't smell like her shampoo anymore and her hair seems oily and more coarse.

| Once a week usually for me too. The exception are the ones that get a nasty bum, then they get a bum bath. My shampoo of choice is Vellus. I also like one called Doo Gro it has moisturizers in it. |
