| Ohhh He doesn't like these crutches.... My Peanut does not, I repeat DOES NOT like my crutches! Friday night I was pulling a rather large pickle jar out of my fridge to get my daughter a pickle. Well the darn thing slipped right out of my hand and landed straight on my large toe and broke it. OHHHHHH to be a toe (small) it is so painful and nothing much can be done for it. Got me some great pain meds and some crutches. Well that is not sitting to well with Peanut. The first time I used them he stood back just looking tilting his head. Then he started running up to them stop and snap at them. At first I laughed think to cute cause he would growl a little then run. I am going on two days now and oh my he is really hating these crutches. He starts barking and chases them each step I take trying to grab them. A few times I have almost tumbled down because I almost stepped on him with them. I have been stern or talk to him when I am using them but he just does not like them. I will lay them down when I sit and he will try to grab the ends and pull them away. Its just the oddest thing Anyway has anyone else delt with something their baby just didn't for you to have? |

| first off , sorry about your toe, that sounds really painful~!! but princess always goes bonkers when i get something new.. like a new sweater or a new decoration for my room or something.... i'll let her go crazy over it for a few minutes until i get annoyed and yell at her to stop.. then she does stop after a few more barks |

YT Addict | New clothing does it for Teddy. Anything he hasn't seen me wear before, he automatically associates it with me going out of the house, and thus me leaving him. He goes to bits, tugging, barking, and biting on it. Well, at least the crutches are only temporary, how long do you have them in for?

| ahhh well that is what I am seeing with mine. I was thinking was he feeling like he was trying to protect me or something. I know the night it happened I was in so much pain and crying that he wouldn't leave my side. He even tried to lick my toe but I was so scarred that he may accidently hurt it I jerked it away from him. During the night I would wake up from moving wrong and he was right there licking my face. He is the most amazing dog. Just these crutches... LOL As soon as the swelling goes down and walk on the side of my foot with out pain (hopefully in another week!) I can get rid of these crutches if he doesn't figure out a way to hide then before then. hehehe |

YT Addict | Aww, you have such an amazing dog. Teddy-Wed does that whenever I'm sick. But as far as those crutches go, I'm sure your baby is like good riddance! How do you manage using those things every day? Does everything take twice as long as people say?

| broken toes must be contagious .... Quote:
I only got ES Motrin, a cane, and they buddy taped the toes ... got the special "boot" ... it throws my balance off ... It's been more than 6 weeks for me and this toe SHOULD have healed but it isn't. I am not new to this type of accident ... not sure why it isn't healing. The pups look at me strangely but seem to have accepted it .... I wish you the best .... hope you heal fast and Peanut gets used to the "extra" legs around. Be careful!

| Thank you and I hope your poor toes heal soon! I sure hope mine doesn't last that long. I am going back to school to finish my degree next Tuesday ( 33 and just now finishing thats what divorce does lol ) It will be so hard doing it even more if I am on these darn crutches. They wouldn't do the buddy tape thing with me because its my big toe. I really hope you get better soon thats a long time and I so understand the pain in it! |

| Sorry about your toe. Hope it heels quickly. Mine attack the vacuum cleaner. It's funny, because I'll try to chase them away, and then they go into full attack mode.

| I'm on crutches too! I had foot surgery last Wednesday and am on crutches too. My pup, Violet, is only 13 weeks so I haven't seen that kind of reaction from her.... so much is still "new" to her... but I have had to be REALLY careful about where I PUT my crutch, that she doesn't knock it over or that I don't come to close to her when I'm walking!!
