| some kids drive me CrAzY!! I just went scrub shopping for vet school and took Lacy with me. I take her pretty much everywhere with me except restaurants and grocery stores and no one ever cares that she's in the store. Anyway, I walk in and there are a couple other adults shopping and two little girls were in the store (like 5-8 year old age range). As soon as I walked in and they saw Lacy, they kept saying, "ooh a puppy..a puppy." So I'm walking around the store trying to figure out what scrubs I wanted because there were actually quite a bit to choose from, and these little kids kept following me around and running up to me and saying "Hi Puppy, Hi Puppy". Like they would NOT leave me alone! Lacy was just being so good and quiet and the workers in the store didn't mind her being there since I was just carrying her in my arms. But these kids were driving me nuts! I finally said, "please just leave me alone." I just couldn't take it anymore. And they still followed me and kept running up to me until I went into the dressing room. I just couldn't believe the parents didn't make them behave. They were seriously driving me crazy and were so annoying.

| Oh man I know what you mean! Whenever I do take one of the girls somewhere, it never fails to have some brat following me. Now I just tell them "oh, she bites, watch out"

| I'm sure they would have touched her if they could have but I kept turning away from them and was holding Lacy up higher under my arm. They couldn't really get to her since I was turning away everytime they got close. But the constant following me and running around us was very annoying

| That would have driven me crazy! What drives me even more crazy is that the parents weren't doing anything. I can stand parents who don't watch their kids in public. I'm sorry you had to go through that!

| gee, how annoying, I'm sorry!! I have a friend who raised a few guide dogs for the blind, and I would be with her in those situations. Guide dogs aren't supposed to be touched while they're working. It drove her nuts to tell people over and over not to touch the dog. |

| I have found that if I tell them that my doggie is shy and gets scared when someone they don't know try to pet them, they usually go away. If they are hyper children, I just try to walk quickly the other way and act like I didn't hear them...although you didn't have the luxury of that evasive maneuver! Every once in a while a very nice, calm child approaches and I let them say hi and give a little pat and that's usually all there is to it.

| That would drive me crazy too. I would've asked the parents to keep their kids under control.

| I guess the parents think if their bothering you, then their leaving them alone. Some parents just don't care.
