| ![]() i just took off the bandage off from my baby's leg (he had a catheter in his leg). when i took off the bandage, i was mortified that they shaved his leg =( he had long beautiful hair on his legs, now his right leg looks like a chicken leg. i know it will grow back but it was a shock since i have never seen him shaved before (i don't like it)... but for future reference, do they have to shave his leg to put the catheter in? |

| ![]() i think they do it to prevent matting? or if there's an infection, you can immediately see it. i think. i've never had it done, but it seems logical. hope he feels better soon!

| ![]() What was this surgery for? Neuter? I don't think they have to shave the whole leg for a catheter. Ellie had oral surgery in January and she got an IV cath. A small to medium size spot was shaved on her leg. She doesn't have long hair so maybe that is why but its not shaved down or that short. You could probably have put Ellie's hair over her bald spot and nobody would have known about it.

| ![]() my boy was getting some dental work done and YES they shaved from above his joint and about half an inch above his paw. my boy has longer legs if that makes a difference. i didn't think they had to shave this much hair off. i wish the rest of his hair could cover it, but it's too much too cover. oh well, it is what it is. my baby is home and is healthy, and that's all that matters. i just can't wait till his hair grows back =P |

| ![]() They shaved both front legs on my little girl for her C-section for the IV. They only used one, but did both just in case. They also shaved part of her skirt off on one side so she looks very funny. But hair grows! I am just glad she's okay.
