Anyone deal with oily skin & fur? My one year old has really oily skin and fur to the point where he breaks out like a teenager with acne. The vet told me to bathe him in a special medicated shampoo to help control it but I am wondering if it is something that is the cause of it or its just a young dog thing? Could the cause be too much protein in his diet?

Actually it does seem to get worse when he is outside a lot, especially running after his ball. He likes to be in the pool quite a bit and you would think the cholrine in the pool would dry up the oil to some degree but it doesnt.

you know, with the chlorine, it could be overproducing the oil. since the chlorine is a drying agent your little one's skin might be going into overdrive.
