| I am so angry Hi everyone.. I am sick to my stomach as I write this and want everyone opinion about this situation. This has been the worst week-end and start of this week for me. Sunday my female went into labor , I called my vet at 9:30 am to ask about my dog having a green discharge. Was told not to worry about it . She had her first puppy at 8:30 pm that night it was dead , she had #2 about 20-30 mins later a male it lived, ..# 3 was about 1 hour later and dead. She formed a water sack and stopped labor had to call the vet it took her 45 min to get to my house to give a shot and pull the pup out.. #4 was dead as too. She said she though there was at least 2 more pups and to give the shot if she didn’t start labor again.. She said if she didn’t start labor again she would need a c-section. I called her back and told her told her to do the c-section because she never started labor again and I wanted to try to save any remaining pups . I told her to also spay her because of all the problem she was having with the birth. She does the c-section and there are no more puppies. She said what she was feeling was her uterus. She said ,she was feeling fibrous mass and scare tissue . This dog had never been bred before this is her 3 heat and she will be two in september.. The little male she had was small but health he weighed 3 0zs. Today I took him in to just get him checked out and to see if he was dehyrated . The vet said he was fine but maybe a little dehydrated gave his some fluid under the skin, said his stomach looked good, looked like he was eating ok, but he wanted to top him off with a tubing. I was at the desk paying my bill when my sister walk in and wanted to peek at the puppy. The puppy was lifeless and still. I hollered for the vet, another other vet who works there rushed him to the back but he was died. He aspirated from the tubing. I was so angry. The vet who had done it left out the back door when I yelled my puppy is dead . My nephew was outside heard me say it and saw him. He called me 2hours later and told me he was sorry, but it happens sometimes. I told him what my nephew said about him coming out the back door after I yelled and he said he didn’t hear me. He asked what I wanted to do. He said he could knock off the bill.. I told him that I came in with a healthy live puppy and left with a dead one.. I now have a screaming female looking for her pup that he can‘t give back to her. I told him most people when they kills your dog replaces it , whether it was on purpose or not. I didn’t not ask him to tube the pup, I took the pup in to see if he was dehydrated. So he says he is going to look for a replacement for me. I told him I know thing happen but I was out alot of money on the pup because I was going to use him for breeding. And that I wanted to approve any replacement dog. I’m sorry this is so long I am so upset just wanted to vent and get everyone’s opinion. Was I out of line for asking him to replace my pup? |

| I am so sorry. The poor mama must be beside herself. That vet should have stood up and taken it instead of sneaking out the back. Maybe you should report him. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | OMG...Oh is that just terrible....I'm sooooo sorry for your babies that you lost but that poor mom...that is just heartbreaking. I'd have been hysterical losing the puppies during birth but to have the VET kill one ? I think I would have a very serious problem with that - how could he DO that ? Why did he tube a baby if it was just dehydrated ? Did he have a reason or was he just throwing vet weight around ? To me - that's incompetence - at least he could have had someone monitoring that puppy WHILE he had a tube in.... That poor mommie is going to be missing her babies so bad...That's so very tragic. How is the mom now ? Is she still crying for her babies ? I know that can last a while and she can get depressed.....poor little girl ...this is really sad for her. |

| I'm also so sorry for the loss of your pups and what happened to your momma dog. It is so sad. It was hard to read your post, is it possible to break it up in paragraphs so it is easier for people to read? |

| Can you sue for malpractice? i assume so. They are a type of doctor and caused death upon the puppies.

| OMG! This breaks my heart, I am so sorry this happened. If I was you I would talk to the vet about ripping up the bill and also giving you some compensation. This is so upsetting, I will keep you in my prayers and close to heart, were all thinking of you and sending you lots of hugs. We're here for you if you need anything.

| Does not sound like the kind of vet I would want to use in the future. I know things sometimes happen, but where is the compassion from the vet?
