| Behavior Problems with Chloe The past few months Chloe has started being mean to Tink. It started with stalking her at night and to be honest I thought it was cute and just a game. What Chloe does is she runs and get on the bed first, then she stalks Tink and Tink will try to fake her out by trying to run on either side of the bed to possibly jump up on that side but chloe of course follows here and once Tink does manage to get on the bed Chloe pummels her and then they start to wrestle. I used to think it was a mutual game being played until I realized Tink absolutely dreaded and would be afraid of getting up on the bed and facing the wrath of Chloe. And it just keeps getting worse with all activites throughout the day now. Tink will be minding her own business and sleeping and Chloe will pick a fight with her and start biting her and barking wildly at her. This week Chloe started humping Tink to dominate her I guess. I keep having to rescue poor Tink from Chloe the B*tch (thats what we call her becasue this is how she is acting). So how do I break Chloe of this behavior? I tell her to "NO!" when she starts harrassing Tink but she doesnt listen to me, I actually have to pull her away from Tink and seperate them. I keep meaning to try the water spraying method hoping maybe Chloe will listen to me if I do this, what do ya'll think?

| Try the water bottle or what I found effective is put a few pennies in a can and say NO in a firm voice when Chloe does this. Poor Tinky. Give her some kisses from me.

| When Kiwi was about 6-7 mos old we noticed when we went to bed that she would sit up on the pillow by my head and when Peebles (our poodle) would start to come up to the top end of the bed Kiwi would leap and attack her. The first few times we thought it was funny. But, we too started noticing that Peebles would walk on the edge of the mattress trying to find a place to sleep and Kiwi would be up by our heads giving off this dog language. We first worried Kiwi would get hurt because when she attacked Peebles they would fight and we had to stop them. Peebles is very gentle and even protecting herself she was gentle with Kiwi. Pebbles is 11 lbs-Kiwi is 5 lb and at the time Kiwi was like 3 lbs. Anyways, when we realized this was not funny and could develop into something bad-the next time it happened I tapped Kiwi and pulled Pebbles over to me-then I pulled Kiwi over and had them both sit with me. At first Kiwi was doing all sorts of dog language with the tilt of her head and ears. After a few times this has basically stopped. Every once in a while you can see Kiwi get in the body langauge and I will tap her head and say no and I will call Pebbles over while holding Kiwi and pet them both. It seems to be working. But Pebbles was pitiful when it first started.

| Just a shot in the dark, but could she sense that you are pregnant and be reacting to that? They say that some dogs can sense cancer so I wouldn't be surprised if she can tell that you are pregnant. Maybe there are other changes going on too that are related to getting ready for the arrival of your baby. Some dogs don't handle change very well. She may be scared and anxious and taking it out on poor Tink. Just a thought. Sorry I don't have a solution. You may want to consult a behaviorist.

| I had a similar problem with my dog Chicklet and Chancey. I'd had Chancey well over a year when Chicklet started to attack him viciously - it started in bed. The first night, Chicklet attacked him 3 times - he actually was lying down on one side of me, got up, walked over me and lit into Chancey. It took me a while to figure out what the problem was - but I was fostering male dogs who were also sleeping with us. Once I stopped fostering males, all was OK. You might want to look into NILIF (nothing in life is free) training for her - if she is a spoiled brat like Chicklet is. I would also suggest crating her or both of them at night and not letting them sleep with you, and for that matter not letting her or them on the couch anymore. |

| I think probably the best thing to do is get this behavior corrected immediately otherwise Chloe might get worse with the arrival of the baby in a few months. My friend had gotten a trainer for this very same problem and what she had to do was get a small bed and attach a VERY VERY short leash to the bed. Then when her two pugs would get in a fight like this my friend had to say "go to your place" and she had to take them to the bed, and tie them to the bed, so they didn't try to leave. That was their timeout corner pretty much. Now she doesn't need the tie, they hardly fight now and if they get snippy all she has to do is say GO TO YOUR PLACE and they both go and sit there until she says it's ok to get up. This is a great way for you to make Chloe realize that her behavior is unacceptable. I think if she starts to harrass Tink when she's just trying to get into bed, you should take Chloe and put her in the time out corner so she understands that she's not the alpha dog. Over time using the time out method will register with her and she will refrain from the attacks. But it will take time. It's just so hard cause they look at you all sweet with those innocent looking eyes and it's hard to punish them

| Perhaps Chloe and Hallie are related? I hired a trainer for many reasons but this was one of them. Of course he could never observe the behavior b/c Hallie only does it at night and only around me. He had me keep rewards (treats) all over my apartment so they would be handy when I needed them. I made Hallie a little area (a bed/blanket) and taught her that when I said "spot" she was to go there and when she did (ONLY when she did it) she got a reward. It took awhile and a lot of patience but it's worked out well for Simon. |

| Davie harasses Lexie like that too. Lexie will just walk in a room and Davie will go up to her and bite at her ear. Lexie lets it go about 90% of the time, but once in awhile she has enough and will give a growl back. It has ended in a "Mom steps in" fude a few times. I might try the spray bottle too!!

Donating YT 11K Club Member | I think Chloe, Hallie and London are related! LOL London will tease Teddy, jump on him, bite him and try to hump him. I used to think it was cute since she is so much smaller than him but I tell her No everytime she does it and she is starting to listen. I want to take them to training classes though.

This is kind of something I was wondering too since I have no dogs in heat or anything and this all started within the past few weeks. The stalking on the bed has been going on for a long time but the mean contstant tryign to "play fight" and bark at Tink started within the past few weeks and normally does occur around me.
